Davis or Wenbo for me, Liang I feel sorry for as he should have got it this season and but for the change in the ranking system he would have been in this year. Davis meanwhile would deserve it for his Worlds run alone, although I would rather see a younger player there.

What about Barry Pinches? He tops the PTC at the moment and if he ends up there or thereabouts at the the end then he deserves it.

Liang should have got the wildcard last season and lost it unfairly to White. This season he would have the right to be there again if it weren't for ranking changes so I think he's the only option unless someone outside the Top 16 wins the UK Championship.

I would like to see Igor Figueraido as a wild shot, but Martin Gould or Wenbo would have a fair chance, if they got a wildcard, where I think Igor could get into a heavy beating if he runs into the top 8 - 10 players.

i think jimmy had his chance now.

Wild Cards should be used to push younger players in to the spotlight so they get the following the likes of Jimmy got.

                  luca brecel then

he will be on power snooker with jimmy white. thats enough publicity for start up

liang wenbo, igor, jimmy white and martin gould are also good choices.

as a side note, if masters is made for alex higgins, then world snooker should also start a new tournament called the Hurricane tournament/cup/championship to commemorate him.

It's not about you though, thankfully.

Certainly not Martin Gould. WTF? Not many outside the forum will know who he is. Whats he done, exactly? Got a to a few quarter finals?? You need someone who will get the crowd in and get people to tune in. As if Martin Gould will do that.

Jimmy got it last year and created the biggest buzz you are ever likely to see but it's not fair to give him it again.

Steve Davis? Probably but he's not played many of the PTC's. Maybe there is a reason but Snooker has created a lot of tournaments and IMO, players should do their best to play in most of them.

What about someone like Tony Drago? He's an exciting player and quite popular.

The only other way is to have an PTC style weekend knockout and the winner takes the wild card.

Nor you equally as thankfully, or else we'd be watching Jimmy White fumble around a first round elimination year after year.
