I enjoy newport, i can't see the big problem with the venue. Only problem i see is the poor coverage really, and never see any advertising for the event and i only live 9 miles away from it.

I was their this year when ron nearly had 2 back to back maxi's...Ooh so close to seeing my first maxi live i was...

Next year i'll get to see 1 (fingers crossed).

Did'nt it move to cardiff a good few years back tho? or am i just making that up...

Welsh Open is a tournament which i like most after the WC and UK Championship. It always bring some memorable moments, such as Stephen Lee's last ranking title, Higginson's 147 and first ranking final, Carter's first ranking title, John Higgins's briliance in last year's final.

This tournament is fine as it is, it can be watched on tv in a reasonable hour (GMT), not like the chinese held tournaments. Nevermind the prize money, the ranking points should be same as China Open and Shanghai Masters. It's the World Open's ranking points that should be reduced.
