It seems that selby hit red first, If you look at the stills taken from the video you can see that the white changes course after first hitting the red and then into the pink.

Reason: Resized pictures
there was 2 much of a gap playing run through for contact on the pink to move the red.
That's my take on it also. For the white to hit the pink, then come back and hit the red it would have to screw back, which it didn't/wasn't doing. If you watch the video you see the white hit the pink, stop for a split sec, then spin forward (run through). Prior to hitting the pink it must have contacted the red. Also, the angle the red took was perfectly possible/reasonable for the line the white was taking.

It look's to me like red first, then the ball takes a different line, the ball's are not close enough for a simultaneous hit. but why not accept the initial decision of Selby and the ref , Selby was giving him the option , i guess he [ William's ] was trying to give the impression of im sure it's a foul ,but ill play it straight anyway , his regret and outburst due to the reversal of the decision .
look at the top picture that was cutting the red toward the black ball whitch did happen then at the bottom picture it clearly shows deviation line before hitting the pink.
It´s probably frustration. He´s as good as ever but struggles to get over the line these days, but I find it quite strange that he wanted a replay if he was certain from the start.

hes not as good as ever it just seems that way by reaching finals.
hes lacking the killer punch he once had even in earlier rounds but it magnifies itself in finals.

He has struggled with the killer punch before. He had a bad final streak before spread to seasons 2000/2001 and 2001/2002. He lost 5 consecutive finals where he appeared, last one was his loss to Paul Hunter in the Masters where he was 5-0 ahead. He commented after that
"It's not a nice feeling to lose like this but we've all been through it. And I'm sure it will happen again.

Well i think we could go trying to guess whether it was red or pink till the cows come home . The real truth is that nobody can tell from the tv pictures available with any degree of confidence . I think a new rule needs made up to be up stating that any shot played where the outcome is too close to call for whatever reason , should be a foul .I can see William's point of view he was virtually holding the trophy with that snooker behind the brown and the reds open like that , mentally it was impossible for him to win after that robbing with the ref virtually tossing a coin for red or pink . The Snooker chiefs have got to make sure that this cannot happen again
