It seems that selby hit red first, If you look at the stills taken from the video you can see that the white changes course after first hitting the red and then into the pink.

IMO it hit's the green first . hehe.
It look's to me like red first, then the ball takes a different line, the ball's are not close enough for a simultaneous hit. but why not accept the initial decision of Selby and the ref , Selby was giving him the option , i guess he [ William's ] was trying to give the impression of im sure it's a foul ,but ill play it straight anyway , his regret and outburst due to the reversal of the decision .

remember Mark Williams is like me....colour blind. perhaps he got confused. lol. this is very strange, he's normally such a laid back charachter.Steve Davis Technical Articles = https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...ilebasic?pli=1

It´s probably frustration. He´s as good as ever but struggles to get over the line these days, but I find it quite strange that he wanted a replay if he was certain from the start.....its not called potting its called snooker. Quote: WildJONESEYE

hes lacking the killer punch he once had even in earlier rounds but it magnifies itself in finals.

Soon after that he won China Open and the following season 2002/2003 was "pretty good" for him. So pounced back. Let's see if he can do it again.

in his early career he won the first 7 finals he played in.....his first final defeat was the 1999 World Final against Hendry.

These reeks of poor sportsmanship from Mark, as the referee wouldn't have known 100% either. It was just so difficult to call.

Well i think we could go trying to guess whether it was red or pink till the cows come home . The real truth is that nobody can tell from the tv pictures available with any degree of confidence . I think a new rule needs made up to be up stating that any shot played where the outcome is too close to call for whatever reason , should be a foul .I can see William's point of view he was virtually holding the trophy with that snooker behind the brown and the reds open like that , mentally it was impossible for him to win after that robbing with the ref virtually tossing a coin for red or pink . The Snooker chiefs have got to make sure that this cannot happen again
