What exactly did you "refute"? Because from where I'm sitting I can't see that you even addressed any of the statements he made.

GeordieDS made several statements of opinion:
    - "This in my opinion was the greatest snooker match ever played"
    - "both players at the top of their game"
    - "anybody who seriously thinks Hendry at his best would not live with Trump or Robertson is just plain stupid"

And a single statement of fact:
    - "at the business end when it really mattered Hendry was to good for O'Sullivan"

Opinions are opinions, you cannot "refute" them you can (at best) change someone's mind with a sensible argument (insults probably won't help here) and the fact is clearly true and cannot be refuted, Hendry won the match after all.

Your reply did not address any of the above, instead you:
    - Gave examples of when Ronnie beat Hendry
    - Showed that Ronnie is ahead on head-to-head

All of that is fine, and may even be true. But it's not a refutation of any of GeordieDS's statements, nor is it relevant to the point he was making.

Instead, it seems, you have imagined that he was saying something like "Hendry is better than O'Sullivan" and you've gone and "refuted" that. Clearly, however, that's not what he was actually saying. So, you either need to address what he has actually said, or ask for an opinion on what you have said.

GeordieDS is not a troll, you are.

I wrote all that because I enjoy picking a bad argument to pieces:

I know it's unlikely, but I am hoping you'll realise that what you are doing here is wrong on a number of levels, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

        • Cartoon sums it all up really. If we were all in a pub having this discussion, someone ( usually the non-troll ) would have
either got fed up trying to get a proper point across, or one ( usually the troll ) would have backed down because of the fear
of real pain ( i.e. non virtual ).

              • Trolls are the most feared warriors in the Universe, they are far to busy typing insults to enter a pub and some pubs don't have WiFi so it is much easier to conduct their battles from their bedroom where they can hear their mammy's telling them it's time for tea.
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

...and you are the arbiter of what is right and what is wrong in this world? give me a break, peasant - amazing how lowly people constantly overestimate themselves and their influence

time to cease conversation with you again. bye bye

                      • Interesting that of all the talk about Judd and Hendry that Hendry this week came out and said that he expects Judd to be world number 1 for next 10-15 years! Now that is from the man himself who has no need to talk anyone up or down now he's retired, no agenda there etc. So hopefully now that will put it to bed.

                        • Haha, I cannot believe you are actually still allowed on this forum Garbitrage so much trolling it's unreal! When someones having to call someone a peasant online you know that they've got no more valid argument. Nrage, great post. Now I think we should all do what he says and 'cease conversation' with him lol :snooker:

Yep, the shortest lived reign as number one in the history of rankings - one month!

With the rankings updated so often its likely that until one player pulls away that the position will be going to and fro throughout the remainder of this season. However once next season starts and the two year list of points are deducted Selby will find himself quite a way behind Judd. Next season is when Judd will hold onto the number one spot, at the moment last years points are keeping Selby within distance. Your attempts at a wind up though aren't worthy of any ranking points!

Also by the time Judd is 29 like Selby I imagine he will have at least 2 or 3 world titles and a host of other titles to boot. Selby has won the least amount of ranking titles to reach number one, doesn't really say a lot about his ability does it!

                              • No wind up, just fact, the money list will heavily favour whoever wins the WC each year, which is probably planned.
