TSB - New ranking event to match UK Championships

I think this must be a positive development. If the Chinese want to sponsor another major tournament, then surely it makes no sense to prevent them. Creating a new major in China is far better (from a British perspective) than relocating the Worlds, Masters or UK (the irony!) over there. My main hope is that the format justifies the amount of ranking points awarded. It makes me wonder whether it's any coincidence that the UK Championships were shortened just a few months previously?

Hearn has done a great job of breathing some life into a dying game.

I'd like to think that snooker means more to him than any other sport, but at the end of the day I suspect he only cares about making money.

Spot on- All the talk seems to be about making maaney and not a mention of the drama or the passion for the game.
