Just wondered ... Golf is similar to snooker in some ways (as Ronnie O'Sullivan once said) in that you have to get a ball into a hole. The "table" tends to be a bit bigger though!
As for me, I've been playing various golf games ever since they first started appearing on computers. The game I'm currently playing is Links 2003 (the latest version, because Microsoft no longer supports it, although a couple of mods have been made by the user community.)
There is a course designer for it ("Arnold Palmer Course Designer," although it's not easy to get to grips with,) and quite a few designers have come up with some great courses, both fictional and real - including Augusta. There are currently over 1,500 free courses available to download, all made by users.
I play online at Links Sports Network (LSPN) here with username Colin Rommel.
Tiger Woods is also a very popular game and also has a course designer (but I haven't tried it yet.)
