  • Your created player: How good are his stats?

    The title says it all:
If you play in the championship-mode how high are the stats of your created player?

I play since about 20 januari, so my stats are not high yet:
    Potting.....10
    Position.....9
    Tools........6
    Pressure....4
    Swerve......5
    Jump.........0 ( I only play snooker, no pool )
    Cue Power.10
    Spin..........9

I've had this since launch, and so far have only played snooker:

    Potting............25
    Position...........25
    Tools..............25
    Pressure..........24
    Swerve.............4
    Jump................0
    Cue Power.......10
    Spin................10

My safety is zero, Risk 100%, Speed about 30% and style about 10% (even though I've had loads of centuries and a 147 - no idea how they judge style!)

Maybe you know where to find this, maybe not, so let me guide you to the route to find all this.
After starting the game, you select 'Championship', follwed by 'snooker'
Then you get a menu called 'ante room', where you select 'start'
Now you get a window where you will be asked to create a snooker career or to continue a excisting career. Choose to continue.

          Now you get the 'tour'-menu.
There you see a 'statistics' item. Select it and choose Player Stats
Here you can see all stats I was talking about.
On the left all I posted in the first post of the topic and on the right you see what I was mentioning in my post #3
At the top of this you see your player name and the points you can distribute to all skills.

Hopefully you can understand it, else I translate it into Dutch

I bought the game just yesterday, but i'm really wondering whether your stats really affect your game... I mean, I can't believe that it gets easier with higher stats; you'll still have to aim yourself and the positional marker we have in 07 is new and was not really missed in the previous installments...

I think the stats affect the game. The better the potting stats, the longer the aiming-arrows.
For instance, my tool stats are poor and when I use the rest the position circle is most of the time at the wrong place.
So I think it affects the game.

Yeah when I first bought the game I thought the same thing Bart009. Its a slow process but increasing the stats actually do make quite a lot of difference. Stick with it

It is a way to make the ball curl by elevating the cue and apply side spin at the same time. You can elevate the cue by pressing the X.
Handy to get out of a snooker by curling around the intervening ball

I'm not really sure how "jumping" can be of any help? Would it be just for getting out of snookers also?

Yes, but only in pool of course. I find that as the position stat gets better, the target area for the cue ball gets smaller. It's a good system.

The thing that annoys me is the ability of the top players to play impossible shots - like playing with deep screw when the cue ball is on the cushion...

                          Infite points

this morning my mate sent me an email with a link with it, i look at the pic and his stats are all 100, and at the top it says infinite points. he said hes not sure how he unlocked it, but after beating john parrott he went to upgrade his stats and had infinite points. does anybody know how he did it?

Blimey! I've beaten John Parrot, but I never got full stats for doing it!!! There must be some cheat available I reckon which we dont know about. But I have no idea how to do it (not that I would anyway )

                              Allright same discussion again.

Previously I stated that I doubt the function of the stats... I have to admit that a better stat for positioning gives a better allround position. However, there is such a stat as pressure... I just can't believe that pressure handling could be affected by a stat while you're manually controlling the cueing... I mean you're the one who should be feeling pressure on frame ball and not you character...

There comes just one thing to mind about pressure, perhaps your aiming arrows get smaller on pressured moments with a lower stat?! So guys, what do you think about this whole pressure thing?!
