  • What a match, qualifier from Hell!

Some matches the computer plays awesome, like it gets fed up of losing! It was only my first match of the season too!

Michael Holt was one, won the qualifier 5-4, Mark Williams played even better, 3 centuries and an 80 + clearance to go 2-0 up when I missed black of spot. I had to make 5 centuries including a 147 of his poorest safety shot to go 4-4, the first time I'd been level since the start, and won a decider, I missed 2 balls, ended up 4-2 down, he never missed a ball, not one!

Anyone else had the computer play similar or better against them? Now I know how Hendry beat me from 6-2 down! I now believe that there are some matches the computer makes it almost impossible to win on purpose, I've never had to play that well before just to win a decider!

Ill keep anyone who's interested posted on what happens relating to the Pot Black Cup, I won't reach the top 8, it'll be interesting to find out if I'm invited, if it's accurate I won't be, top 8 only

Interesting how Mark Williams makes 4 frame winning breaks and only goes 2-0 up.
And very fascinating that you make 5 centuries and only get 4 frames out of them.

      Not again

No, he was 2-0 at the time, ended up making 4 frame winning breaks, 3 centuries and an 80. I had to make 5 centuries to win, overall there were 8 centuries in 9 frames!

Matthew Stevens did similar to go 3-1 up, I won 7-3, but now I've got Hendry, I'm dreading it lol, if he plays like Williams like he has done before I may well lose!

I'm actually thinking that players are more likely to raise their game and play better based on your ranking, at this rate I'll do well to even win a tournament!

          Cool!

Yeah me too, my current winning streak is 42, 4-0 up over Hendry who, thankfully, is not playing his invincible god-like game! I beat Higgins easily every time, must be the way he plays, keeping the balls open, same as Hendry and O'Sullivan.

It allows me to get in for a clean, break building style game which I love, making centuries and high breaks gives me a buzz (call me sad!) lol, rather than a scrappy one against the likes of McManus and Dott as sometimes happens.

Normally I don't struggle qualifying, usually dropping a frame or none at all, it seems more likely that the players will play better against me due to ranking but not a certainty!

try taking a few more risks....for me i tend to take a lot....simply because the rewards are large....it may take awhile to get the aim absolutely perfect but one stunning shot and the rest of the frame may be simple...

if not you can always turn off autosave and restart
              screw it
