I havent played the 07 edition, but the others are too easy I think. I've made about two dozens 147's in medium and a handfull in expert. Still good fun, though.

Virtual Pool 3 is much more realistic.

After making the dozens of maximums, did you get the Willie Thorne status?

Haha, no I still got my hair on!

Seriously, you should try Virtual Pool 3. It does good for your real playing, at least for me. WSC is more to learn the path the balls take at different speed/spin/etc, which I'm sure you already have a good knowledge of. But as a newbie, I've learned a great deal from both games.

Haha, yeah it has one big flaw, hit the ball with lots of power and any trace of side spin will have both balls (cue ball and object ball) flying a metre or two up in the air, not very realistic.

Of course, its a snooker table instead of pool. Yeah, both are funny clips.

Here is a clip of almost the same kind of shot, almost a succesful pot : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHQpuXfKKIk

The fact is, you can do extremely funny jumps in vp3 and in real table too. I myself got almost knocked out by a cueball when my friend made a breakshot in 8-ball when we were playing in our local hall :

I was having a beer a couple of meters back-and-away of the table (triangle-end) and my friend made a breakshot. The cueball rolled perfectly towards the top ball of the triangle, hit the top ball, and then suddenly jumped and flew right by my shoulder so, almost a K.O.

When cueball was hit, it didnt jump straight away. My friend hit very aggressive top-spin and when it hit the top ball of the triangle, the top-ball "catched" the top-spin of the cueball and made it to jump 1 meter high and 4 meter long jump over my shoulder.

So unbelieveable shots are made in real table too

But explain me what happens in this this shot (starts at the time of 0:28): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cKRAcPFQa4 . The way I see it, its not following the laws of physhics at all

"wsc is the closest u can get to the real thing, love it , improved my game". You don't play much in real life, do you?

Definitely, there would be a little tuning in the vp3 physhics-model too, but definitely not that much as in the WSC series.

                  Sorry for off-topic post.

                      Hi,

Thats a great break m8, I must congratulate You.

I've got only 40 on a real table.. I got to work on my cueing-action in real play, its terrible On last spring I made a 66 point break in vp3, and got jammed into it for 8 months, until a few days ago I was able to pull off a break of 88 in online match against a live opponent. Never had my pulse that high because of just some computer game

I think some people on this forum really hope I would have get knocked out by the cueball, heh, because of some of my vp3-posts here

The major things in vp3 Id like to have made better in the next version are the english/masse shots, those are reacting a little too effective and the cueing-action in vp3 is "too perfect". Its perfectly straight. This is making especially the long shots relatively easier in the game than in real play. I like the mouse striking system though and the gameplay and the flow of it. Some players, for some reason, don't like the mouse-strike, but here is my opinion about it: http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...67&postcount=5

Of course, its just my personal opinion and everybody are not the same.

So I admit it, vp3 is not a perfect but its still definitely the only game out there which is even trying to be a real simulation.

I think I could easily get banned in this forum if I continue writing like this, heh sry dont want to be hostile, but cant help it sometimes

                      Cheers

I achieved a 143 break in World Championship snooker 2004 edition. The snooker games that followed though I've not achieved a single century

Although in WCS Real 2009 I've so far got a 76 break, so I'm improving
