Six years on and they STILL don't seem to have the camera angles right. I think 2005 was the closest they came to perfect (as far as camera angles are concerned). If for this new one they're going for a 1st person perspective, then fine, but don't try and mix between 1st person and TV style cameras. These last few editions of the game haven't paid enough attention to what we need to see. They cut away at the wrong time, use too many 'pocket cam' views and low angle shots (that just don't exist in real coverage) - half the time you're left staring at a cushion and wondering what the balls are doing.
Why the hell don't the makers watch some BBC coverage and mimick the way they do it. As a general rule, they use the two floor cams for when a player is in and around the black, and always cut to the elongated overhead view after the ball has been potted, giving us plenty of time to see what the cue ball and any other moving balls are doing.
This is one of those games that whilst not being clever enough to programme, I could certainly sit there with a programmer and tell them what to do..."Okay, use that view for this shot, then cut to the overhead...etc etc"
It's so obvious they don't reserach the BBC coverage and it ****es me off!"Kryten, isn't it round about this time of year that your head goes back to the lab for retuning?"
