I bought VP3 when it came out and it still hasn't been bettered IMHO. The 3-cushion billiards physics model is spot on and very difficult to play but can anybody top my break on straight pool of 375 balls in a row!?

375 points on straight pool wow, thats pretty impressive!
I havent played straight pool that much, just a few racks online with live opponent... theres 10ball online tournament ongoing, I just yesterday played my first round match with my opponent from the philipines, race to 25 racks, final result was 25-23 for me, phew that was a good game
Yeah, celeris had a slow-going project called VP3Gold during 2006...maybe 08 but they dropped that one out. Actually vp4 has already made much more progress in 2 months than VP3Gold made in 2-3 years so Im feeling quite positeve about the new game now.
After I read this, I Googled for the Celeris forum and had a read.
It looks good, like I said I can't wait for VP4 as it will be hands down the best cue sports game out in the market.
I've tried so many pool and snooker games over the years and found them all wanting, VP has always had the best control method and physics model.
Ibet faterics break in straight pool was not called shot on the break...i bet he just banged at the balls in any direction.
Theres not many people going to get a run over 300 let alone 50 without doing that.

I called shot on the break but I had the guide lines turned on(forgot to mention that!!!lol). I had 70-odd with the lines off but was nowhere near good enough for 300+ without the lines. Great game though.

I thought so.
I got to say this though, why aret you playing this game online with us??,cos thats where youll improve your game and you wont do that offline with tracking lines on.
By the way youll see that some of the guys on there are excellent at the game it can be a tough baptism for some people, but if you persevere youll get batter.
Virtual Pool4 will be the next generation of the game and any problems youve mabye had getting online with vp3 are solved once the new version gets relesed.
Virtual Pool 4 is on its way and as a sign of that Stve Chaplin wants your pic to be part of the game.Herws what he wants.
Your pic will be used for the AI players in the game
Portrait photo, light background or shot of down on a pool shot with good look at the face. Will crop to shoulders head, that should be at least 256x256 if possible.
Send to vp4@celeris.com
I'm not too good (I think I've made a 60 odd or 70 break with the pockets set to max and the reds nicely spread on the full size table) but the physics and feel of the game are the best of any game I've tried. WSC seems laughable by comparison.
looking forward to vp4, might finally be able to play a bit online if they support it properly. I play online at grandbilliards atm, which is a better looking game but the physics engine is nowhere near as accurate.
I'd like to see a combo of the best of VP3 (control etc.) and elements of WSC (but not 2009 version which, after such a long wait, was a bitter disappointment). Mind you, if you're playing VP3 on a pc against the "best" computer opponents, be prepared for some amazing fluke shots. I think the US programmers can't ever have watched a top-class snooker game - some of the snooker opponents' shots are totally ridiculous. But if you play VP3 online, you'll soon see the level of skill and control a human player can reach.
Hi there just a link to keep any of you that might still be interested in Virtual Pool 4.
You can follow all and any updates on the upcoming game here http://www.9balldotcom.co.uk/virtualpool4.htm
As a novice snooker player, I am enjoying VP3DL although it seems a little too easy. Like playing on an American pool table.
One question. How do I take a free ball? The game offers it to me but I only can chose to shoot or have my opponent shoot. If I elect to shoot a colour it counts it as a foul and end of break.
I know this is not the help forum for VP3 but the Celeris site is refusing to send me the email that I need to authenticate so I can't post there. Not very busy there anyway.
Any help appreciated, I'm turning down all free balls until I figure out whats going on.
