The secret is speed an accuracy in the first 4 racks. Build your time up and then its down to how many you can get before time runs out. I wonder whether the high scores like the 100000+ are down to expert level. I haven't tried it yet but that's the only thing I can think of that would explain such high scores. On normal mode I think 70,000 might be about the limit.
