  • so do I tbh they'er making some great games at the moment with the F|1 and Dirt series their snooker games prior to Blade taking over were pretty good and I think would be even better now and although Blade(Dark Energy) have come up with some interesting features for the game such as the cue-ball posditional aid I'm sorry to say that the series in genersal has gone downhill somewhat. Graphics wise it's pretty impressive however gameplay wise withe the controls it's fallen apart. I don't see this license straying with DE much lon ger if this is how the game gets treated

Same here - shame really, but I still cannot get my head around how the series has gone down hill since 2005. Animations were spot on then, aiming arrows were spot on. Full length matches were correct. All it needed was minor improvements to AI, tweaks to presentation etc and BOOM........

Actually Blade/Dark Energy have always been the developers since 2000. Codies just published the game till 2004/05

        • I still think CM would do a far better job though granted f1 2010 hasa few annoying bugs that rear their headfrom time to time but it's a solid fun F1 game with great graphics and playability I've been playing it on and off quite a bit since I bought it back at the eend of September and they're planning an F1 2011 as well which sounds promising but as I said I don't hold up much hope for the future of DE if they don't buck their ideas up and make some meaningful improvements because without them they may end up losing the license

          • This is the first time I've posted on the threads, I've been reading with great interest all of your quotes - of course those quotes are solely by the console players. Why there isn't already an option to at least digitally download on the pc absolutely staggers me quite frankly. Please rectifiy this immediately Dark Energy.

When Codemasters distributed World Championship Snooker 2004, the game code was still written by Blade Interactive's team, that I think is the same of Dark Energy. I think that WCS 2004 is the best version, because into 2005 version it was not possible to disable totally aid aims, although the physics of the balls in 2005 version is better than 2004 version. I don't know 2011 version because doesn't exist a PC version...

              • It's obviously a financial issue. It will be difficult to see even if it's spot on. Maybe focus on the pool side a lot more as well.

EA Sports are usually spot on.

                    • WSC 2004 is brilliant on the PC. Runs perfectly and is very easy to line up shots etc. I just had a go of it again today, and the graphics still hold up well also.

Don't think you can. If anybody's still thinking of buying this please don't waste your money as i have. I'm actually contemplating looking out my old PS2 & playing one of the older versions of the game as the last 2 versions are that bad.

                              • This is truly a disaster...this guy from DE needs to tell us why the spots are gone from the cloth, how on earth can you build a break without knowing if a spot is covered. The bloom effect is way overdone, everthing is just a blur from the baulk end....where's the ref then?? why take him out?? overhead view after the shot, has been taken out??? why would you do that??
The commentery seems to be exactly the same as 09, John Virgo and his crosswords got on my nerves 2 years ago....either record some new stuff, or get someone else in to voice it.
I expect as I get further into the game the same flaws in tournaments and the rules will emerge again...
There are so many basic flaws with the game, it makes you wonder who on earth was in charge of the project...have they ever played snooker before? was the game even tested? surely someone within the team must have noticed these errors, whoever was in charge he/she needs to pick up their P45 asap.
Many moons ago I was a Project Manager for a video games company, and I nor anyone else would have let this out of the door, because I have some professional pride in the work I do, yes there will be constraints put on you by the publisher but these faults as so basic it makes you wonder what the rational behind these decisions are??
So Mr DE can you give us some reassurances that these faults(spots, ref, bloom) will be patched, because I can't see me purchasing another DE game, and if this is anything to go by DE will not be publishing much either and go the same way as Blade.....
