I have just rented this out. And I actually like it but it needs major patching.
1. No spots on the table
2. No ref.
3. Get the tournament rounds correct for a start if this is supposed to be a sim
Im not buying it until you guys announce a patch to fix at least some of the issues that have been raised

Many people have said that there are noticeable improvements and they're really enjoying the new version, obviously we're sorry if you are not and we'll work hard in the future to continue address issues you may have.
However this version certainly is better and definitely different to 09. We've created an all new pixel perfect physics system, added online tournaments, allowed saving at any point and of entire matches, fixed cheating issues in online play, improved the controls and interfaces, implemented better menus and super fast loading times, improve character create, added a retake feature, an all new time control replay feature, improved coaching, improved the aiming aid and made it harder and much more besides. Many of these features were the most high priority requests of fans after 09. We're really glad that so many are enjoying it as a result, but obviously sorry if some people are not so happy with it. You are well within your right to demand the best Snooker game possible, and that is our goal. We feel 2011 is a good step forward, but we'll be making bigger steps in the future and working hard to address all your issues
and don't give us that bull about things slipping through the testing stage. so you're telling me that not one 'tester' or member of the dev team said "there's no spots on the table" or was it too late and the project manager said "oops but don't worry the ppl who buy the game won't notice"
either way it's a massive omission.
without wanting to sound rude, i guarentee your company will go under if you don't resolve these faults in your game, cos no one will buy a game made by you again. considering there's only 250 on the live leaderboard and i imagine roughly the same on the PS3 leaderboard then you ain't exactly selling many copies anyway, so maybe it's a good idea to start acting pretty quick or you'll all be out of a job again.

Yep a patch is needed fast if your to save your reputation on snooker sims. Why did u take out watching cpu matches in career mode but the biggest problems are no spots, no ref and tournament round incorrect.
If you dont patch and its up to you I would not bother making another snooker sim and you would have lost your customers through this.
At least if you patch the game you say your listening to people on here and making and effort to improve things that really should have been in the game to start with.

Hi Guys,
Just to assure you we are working on patching, but we need to take stock of all issues and make sure everything is accounted for. It then takes a little time to make and test the fixes and then to go through the due process with Sony - it's not a quick process so please be patient.
Thanks for all the feedback, the more precise detail we get the quicker we can make sure the issues are addressed so it's a big help.

Well Done Dark Energy for listening to us. My flaws as follows
1. No spots on table.
2. Please get the tournament rounds right ie I should not be playing John Higgins in a qualifier round No 4 when in fact it should be the 1st round of the actual tournament.
3. Get the ref back.
If you patch this then ill buy it. Options 1 and 2 and the most important.

I've also experienced tearing especially when ending the frames to the handshake celebration and during some IR too as the camera moves quickly round the table..

Some of the deeper faults with the game/series: Shadows are way off, everything has a shadow from every angle. Plus there is a weird 'fuzz' (for the lack of a better word) on everything, as if the AA has been overdone. Same monotonous '1 snooker song' soundtrack trundled out each year (care for a bit of variation?). Players take their shots almost standing up again.
