The easy option wouldn't be available to be used online, so it would deter the players who quit, and would whittle it down to the pros (i.e. us).

2005 was perfect, absolutely perfect. How can you go from making a perfect game, and then producing this on superior hardware? DE have let us down big time, and I hope they lose the license for this. Why isn't Ol' Barry having a word? If he wants snooker to get to the masses, then he needs to stop signing his name onto this shovelware.
yeah they had it right with 04 and 05 even the commentary was perfect in those gameshow they got from there to this I don't know but if this is the way DE are going to treat snooker then Barry will have to look elsewhere I think for a good developer to give the license too

not to say there's anything wrong withthe aids as I use them myself and find them useful and the building experience points is a good idea but it's the basics for me that has ruined the game no referee no spots and the fact that the control system from the previous versions hasn't been sorted out either and I did point this out to them after 09 was released is very dissapointing to be honest recently I've gone back to 09 on the PC and playing 04b and 05 and I've been enjoying them far more than I have 11 lately

    • Hey, I've actually been playing a few games with both the assists off and it's quite good. Still a bit too easy but snookers work really well which is a nice change..

      • Started my second season after blitzing it through my first.....beat jamie Cope in the Final of Shangai with a 147 and get the message "cannot save to this device" and lo and behold corrupt data....what a ******* piece of *****....where's DE guy then??? conspicious by his absence..spending time (and a big love in) with the hydro forums...haul your arse over here and explain this, your absence only stengthens the disdain I and many others have for your shambolic efforts.....don't bother making another game, in this climate being ripped off for your hard earned cash sure makes for a long memory.....

I agree totally. They shafted us, and are the only people getting anything from this bunch of badly programmed, last gen looking crap. DE NEED to lose this franchise, or I'm out.

          • Anybody else getting annoyed with the crowd noises if you miss a pot (why do they start laughing!?!?!) , and where the cue ball goes near any pocket (they go mental)

            • The trouble is there are very few UK devs that would take a snooker game on (in hoping DE don't make any more).

                • Just been onto the Hydrophobia forums and posted a message simply stating what kind of company Dark Energy are, and what is likely to happen once the game has been released. But I think that I immediately got banned.

Can someone click on the forum link below and confirm if you can access. All it says for me is Database Error.

                    • Well, they've jumped ship. I knew they would. Another top effort from Blade/DE.

                      • Does anybody know why Steve Davis isn't co-commentating with JV?

And why the pool commentary is done by JV, and not them two yanks!?!?!

I am here just to speak a word of warning. Dark Energy recently developed and published a game called WSC REAL 11 for the XBOX 360 (snooker game, sequel to other editions of the game).

They set up a forum just like this to get the views of gamers to make the game as good as possible. The result .... not the best .... the basics of the game had simply gone to pot (no pun intended) (no spots on the table, no referee, little offered in terms of customising a character etc) When a few of us on the forum started to ask questions Dark Energy just simply disappeared ... we have had no reply for a number of weeks now.

We have asked about updates, but they have just taken the option of "stuff it, you've paid your money, now f*** off".

Please take time to have a look at the forum below to fully understand what I'm talking about (especially the last 5 pages if you don't have time to read it all)

                          All the best, hope Hydrophobia (I have no idea what it is) lives up to your expectations;
                          Craig.
                          Hi Craig,

Fair point - we've haven't been onto the forum in a while and for that I apologise. We're juggling a few different things at the moment and there's only one of me to go around. We are working on a WSC Real 11 patch as previously stated on the forum, and since work is still under way there haven't been any updates recently to report. We have been replying to direct messages on the WSC Real 11 front. However I hold my hands up - in the maelstrom of activity I've neglected that forum a bit lately as there has been nothing new to report, I'll get back on there now to reassure everyone that the patch is still in progress. Apologies Craig and if you have any specific concerns get in touch via support@darkenergydigital.net

                          Hmmm .... I await in anticipation .

                            Hi Craig,

Well you beat me too it Apologies to all that we haven't been on for a while. We've been working around the clock on the patches and have been responding to peoples direct emails as well as juggling some other work - however I know that's not an excuse and we should have been more accurate on this forum too. Obviously if we had a specific update to deliver then we would have come back here to do so. For now please rest assured that we are working on patches - it does take time. We do need to ensure we can reproduce the major issues people and having, and we need to ensure the fixes we put in are safe and thoroughly tested and we need to go through the convoluted process of submitting these patches through due process. Obviously people are very passionate about the game which is great - but we can only patch fixes not peoples personal design requests. However as we've always stated ALL the feedback we receive gets put into our system to be analysed and on a democratic basis will influence future versions of the game.

Thanks for your understanding and for your patience

                            • theres been feedback since the 2007 version in all threads on this forum.
if you took all feedback serious you would have had a perfect game.
you obviously don't do anything with feedback from this forum, start reading through 2007 & 2009 threads and you know what i mean...

                              • We implement suggested features if and when:

                                1. The majority of players support them based on ALL our data gathering and research
                                2. They are technically achievable within the technology, time constraints and budget of the project, which is tighter than a lot of games since the market is relatively small
                                3. We implement them and they work in practice according to play tests and are a definite improvement to the game

Unfortunately this means it is simply not possible to implement every aspect of feedback, but in WSC Real 11 we did implement a lot, as we have outlined previously in the forum. Sometimes features which couldn't make it in due to point 2 can be looked at again for the next version.
