just thought aswell if sumone fouls on wsc 09 you get choice to put them in or continue but you cant come to table and look around first you only get a top veiw which is rubbish has this changed also i have been told that the three fouls and you forfeit the frame is back in is this correct as these two things would make game alot better

Everything this game needs is written in the pages of the wsc real 2009 thread.
It starts at page 16 http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...=16859&page=16. , where everybody finally got their copy of the game...

Ahhh well I remember a couple of names from this forum who were around back in the old Codemasters days!
Anyway like many on here I have been seriously let down by the last couple of iterations of this previously good game and to be perfectly honest I am not that impressed with what I have read so far. My main concerns are as following.
1. Dark Energy states little or no improvement to animations/commentry (in fact commentry hasn't even been redone).
2. It would appear that there is still only an ON/OFF for various aiming aid utilities. Like many others I agree that we need the choice of aiming arrow length like in 2005 version (the best version by far!
3. Whilst an online tournament will be good it would appear to me that for the tournament and other online modes you CANNOT disable aiming arrows from top down view. This means anyone I play online will still have those ridiculously easy arrows in top down view. DISABLING this really is a MUST.
The above are based on Dark Energy's replies thus far. Having been a "fan" of this franchise since the PS1 days I would like to ask the following questions:
Single player:
1. Whilst all tournaments were in 2009 version the last round of the qualifiers was wrong. Where the last 16 were seeded the game showed this as the last round of the qualifiers when in fact it is the first round of the tournament. As soon as the top 16 players play that is the first round and NOT a qualifier. Has this been fixed to adequately reflect that it is the last 32 in the tournament proper and not last 16!
2. Is there the option of full length matches this time and moreso is this now the correct amount of frames? Notably the world championships on 100% length had just 13 frames in 2nd round matches of tournament proper (should be 25) and only 19 frames for the finals. Also the qualifiers of the UK Championship and World Championship at full length should be best of 19 frames and not best of 9. Before the release of 2009 I asked if full length matches were in and was giving a resounding YES. However unlike 2005 they weren't. Are PROPER FULL LENGTH MATCHES in 2011 version. (For a company which claims they are fans of the sport why do they fail to get the above 2 points right in every iteration with the excepton of 2005!).
3. Dark Energy mentions "tweeks" to the AI. To be honest when commentry/graphics have barely been touched I am rather sceptical about these tweeks. Will the AI still take absolutely ridiculous shots when needing snookers?
4. In 2005 and older versions we could see the progression of the AI. Since 2007 if you don't qualify you DON'T EVEN KNOW WHICH AI WON EACH TOURNAMENT! Is this still the case or can you now see the progression regardless of whether or not you qualify?
Online:
1. I have been thinking about this online tournament and how it will work. I would imagine that this will not be a tournament proper (i.e. with drawsheet and 32 players reduced to 16 etc etc). It strikes me that this is more likely to be a nameless ladder tournament which will work as follows:
It will be ladder based. What happens here is that the program will simply show round 1/round 2/quarter final/semi final/final but no player names (except obviously the player you play at each stage). Everyone online will enter a round 1 match and all that succeed will go to a round 2 but you will never see the names of all the people in the tournament because realistically it will just be whoever is online at the time that you play. (This is what the racing game Need for Speed does in its ladder tournament). Therefore you will simply be drawn against a random other player who is also round 1 and should you "win" you will then be drawn against any other player who has won their round 1. So on so forth, but you won't see a draw sheet of progression because the system will just work it as a ladder rather than a proper tournament. Is this correct please Dark Energy.
2. It has been stated that you can disable portions of the aiming aid online (however you still cannot SHORTEN this aiming aid). Is this only for custom matches or will it apply for the tournament as well? My guess and gut feeling is custom match only and all aids will be defaulted to on for the tournament. (There probably wouldn't be enough players to have these options for tournaments).
3. Please give a definitive answer as to whether aiming aid can be turned off INDEPENDENTLY for top down view. This is just so so important for online play otherwise we will all be forced to use such a ridiculously easy view just to be competetive.
The sad thing is I will buy this game regardless just like I have every other version, but I buy it because there simply is nothing else. Having spent so much money on every iteration from Blade Interactive I am very disappointed with the way the game has gone downhill.
I would be grateful for in-depth non-ambiguous answers to the above.
