My first impressions are good.
I've played a couple of frames, and overall I like the changes. As promised menus and general access times have speeded up. The game looks a lot better, on the table, and I'm really not bothered that much with off the table graphics, but these are also a little better than before, but admittedly still not very good.
Most importantly for me, I no longer feel as though I'm wrestling with the controls to get the shot I want, fine tuning my shots is a lot smoother than on previous versions, and the game just 'feels' better generally.
I haven't tried some of the other new features like slo-mo replays and such, so can't yet comment on that stuff.
OK, it's not perfect, but I've NEVER yet played a game that is. So my initial conclusion is well done DE, it's a marked improvement as far as I'm concerned, and I reckon I'm going to have a lot of fun with it.

Enjoying the game so far, altho it is a lot easier then the previous versions. The load times are now very quick which was one of the annoying things from the 09 version. The pool is also improved, especially now you dont have that annoying arrow spinning above the ball. When playing a few games of snooker earlier, i did find an error in the rules. Am I right in thinking that when a player needs snookers, you cant keep calling a foul and a miss and having the cueball replaced, because thats what happened earlier?

Just bought it today. I don't even have a blue ball on the table when I'm playing snooker and AI figure sometimes disappears when taking a shot leaving just the cue floating in mid-air. Can't say I'm impressed at all. Best version was '05 on PS2.
I think I'll be taking it back tomorrow and get my money back or get Tiger Woods 12!

not sure I agree with simpler to be honest as I think having the option to have the controls where you want them would be better and given I personally prefer the D-pad over the sticks I think I should be able to have a menu option somewhere to organise the controls that way much the same way EA does with FIFA
