  • What did others get points wise for winning? I beat Nolan 5-2 in my first qualifier (first ever match) in the shanghai masters, had an 80, a 40 odd and a 140 break, got 12 points???? suppose that way it would mean its a bit easier to build ur character up without having to become a phenom and win everything all the time!

    • Can someone tell me where Judd Trump and Jimmy White are? Although I suspect it may be contractual issues or funding.

      • looks like all the bugs are on the PS3 version and not the 360. i'm playing on 360 and not experienced one bug yet, especially the ones that are being mentioned on here. overall i'm loving the game bar a few niggles like cam view after shot taken but y'know what, i can live with it because the physics are perfect and that's all i care about to be honest.

            • Jimmy has never been in it because he has his own computer game. It was released a long time ago though but that will be why. You have to own the rights for things like that. For example, FIFA own the rights to all the names of footballers. If you have Pro Evo, you will notice a lot of names aren't correct etc.

              • Thanks for the reply, thought this may be the case. World Snooker have endorsed this game, you'd think Jimmy White may have wanted to be involved.

                      • had my first game online tonight without aiming aids on it was still easy to pot the balls but the positioning side of it is alot more difficult to judge also if you are snookered on all reds it doesnt show you were the white is going to finish when prople try to come off a cusion into the pack so that is a big plus on this game
id like to know how the leaderboards work do you get 1 point per frame per? or if you lose a frame does your true skill go down? i dont know this cause i am still undifeated lol
                        2 off a ton

                        • Why do we even need all the aiming aid lines in the game? As in real life, playing a shot should be based upon the player's judgement and not the move-the-aiming-aid-until-the-ball-pots way that is the obvious way to play (I am guilty of it myself and use the lines because the option is there, if there was no option for them then I can't use them!). The best type of aiming aid is as used in the excellent online snooker/pool game 8 Ball Club, in which as you move the cue around you see what proportion of the ball you will hit. This is what you do on a real snooker table, judge what fraction of the ball to hit and line yourself up accordingly. Sure it would not be immediately playable for the casual gamer but for an endorsed niche game such as this it should be the way to play for us true snooker fans.

I believe the balls should be made to look smaller on-screen as in the aforementioned World Championship Snooker on PS1 - as with screen resolutions, things look better when not "kiddified".

What Blade / Dark Energy are failing to realise is that the very nature of the subject (snooker) demands something extra - snooker is about accuracy, skill and logic and we expect these things from a dedicated snooker game.

How well have u played a game without aiming aids then? The VAST majority would struggle to pot balls regularly and make a 20, ever played Jimmy White's snooker games or any games before PS1 Snooker game? Developers have made it a bit harder, as hard as they could really while still having an aiming aid, I'll concede that the right trigger should have an option to turn it off.

Played last night, breaks of 84, 75, 147 and 127 for 4-0, poor Angus Simm, then I played for 2 snookers after he made a 50, got him in 7 or 8, he got out of all of them off 1 and 2 cushions, looking like a pro in how he played them, MUCH better at getting out of snookers, I've said before I'm sure the AI is of a higher standard at the moment, that's 4 50s and 2 30s the first and second round qualifiers have made against me now, next up Nigel Bond then John Higgins, my last break for a 5-1 win was a 142, played excellently, chuffed to get the max too, will check the money later, got 12 points again, it appears that is a bog standard points award for a win, fine by me!!!

If/when I win a match to nil, I'll update on whether extra points are given, as in last game u got an extra point for a win to nil!

                              • Had some great matches online over the weekend, really a pleasure to play with real players when the game finally launches

Thanks for all the great feedback, good and bad. Very pleased that a lot of the new features are going down so well, and you have our assurance that we will take any and all criticism on board too.

Looks like Ding has made a good start today, maybe our AI simulated tournament in WSC Real 11 which predicted him as champion this year will prove prophetic!
