Any chance of a PC version? Also any chance of severely updating the controls on the PC version - i.e. ability to use the mouse to properly aim/strike the cueball, ala Virtual Pool? Or will the actual fans of the snooker game be sticking to VP3 awaiting for 4?

I doubt it DE are having a harfd time as it is trying to get the console versions working right I take it you haven't been reading the threads much or you would know this

Yeah - don't hold your breath. Stick with the old versions (well, anything pre-2007) as the new version will only make you question your love of the sport.

I'm looking for 2005 version. However, Virtual Pool is the best. Carom3D [has mouse power and aim] is very good.

DDD Pool and 3D Live Pool are also very good. [also has mouse power and aim]

the ironic thing is though that it works better on the PC than on the PS3 though yet they focus more on the PS3 and still get it wrong

Unfortunately, PC users are generally considered to be scum when it comes down to it. When was the last really good game that came out on PC and consoles? I actually can't remember it.

I wouldn't either. Hell, I've got a PC, Laptop, PS2 and PS3. In fact I've still got an old Game Sear knocking about somewhere! It generally comes down to what the game companies think of people. If you notice PC games are generally a good amount cheaper than console games. I have seen as much as £15 difference in the same game in different formats. I just prefer certain games on certain formats. I prefer snooker and pool on the PC and insane action games and racing games on the console.

The problem comes down to gamer taste.

Sadly, as much as we would love everyone to rush out and buy our snooker game, they're not. They're playing COD or some other identikit shooter, so the chances of a conversation to PC are slim. Now, if it was a balls out (pun intended) potathon, with explosions and gunfire, it'd get a port no problems.

same with me really when I play Fifa I tend to switch to my PS3 although I do own FIFa for both PC and PS3 mind you I have noticed it hasa tendency to run more fluidly on the PC so in a way I like it that way slifghtly more for that I too have a game gear although I don't tend to use it anymore as it dosen't really work properly which was why I bought a PSP as I thought I'd still like to have a portable option.I tend to graduate more to the PS3 for sports titles mainly because they tend to work better on the console but when it comes to thinking games the PC has always been superior. although having asid that with racing games I tend to play more on the PCthan the PS3 as I find I can fine tune the controls more to my liking on PC

not sure about that I think it's down to the fact DE/Blade have limited resources I think the latest attempt at a game is enough proof of that if they had the resources of Codemasters or EA they wouldn't have a problem because if I remember correctly every vewsion they released under CM's stewardship had a PC version to give everyone the chance to play. I mean looking at the new game it does make you wonder how it could be the same people that produced those games in 2004/5 given it's gone so downhill since then

Yeah, there's a real rift between what is being churned out now, and the classics of the last generation. It's sad to watch the decline of a series that I have supported since the PS1. As for PC versions, I have them all, and they're damn fine versions. They always benefited from the higher resolutions, and the raw power of a PC. Even the first version on Pc, which was an updated port of the PS1 version, had reflective balls and bump mapping.

I always thought they lost a little of their magic without a pad, though. But that's most likely because I learnt to play the game orginally on a Dual Shock!

I haven't bought every bersioon but I did recently buy 04 for the PC mainly because I missed Dennis |Taylor's commentary as my PS2 versions apart from 05 seem to not like my PS3 for some reason not sure why. Have enjoyed playing it too making 2 finals and winning 1

Playing them on PS3, maybe it's just mine, but they stutter like crazy. I noticed it when playing the actual PS2 versions (I played them mainly on the Xbox, where they were silky smooth), but when running them through the backwards compat, they're pretty rubbish. Much like most games ran through PS3!

yeah I don't think the older snookler games like the PS3 much that's why I bought 04 for the PC
