    I am 26 years old and can honestly say i'm looking forward to opening my christmas presents as one is a wii and the other is WSC.

    I'm like a kid again, even more so after seeing the trailers.

    Hope the gameplay is good with lots of unlocks and uk 8 ball?

      @Mellow Yellow

      Glad to hear you are looking forward to the game. It's definitely our deepest simulation to date, but we also think you'll find it great fun to play with friends and family on Christmas day!

      Oh and yes, the UK 8 Ball Championship is in the game, along with Golden Cue - an unlockable fantasy tournament which mixes Snooker and Pool, Trickshot and Coaching Modes, Challenges, Billiards, even Bar Billiards.

        I don't own a Wii myself, but my best friend does and I would love to buy him a copy when it comes out. Hopefully shipping to the United States won't be too prohibitive... :snooker:

            Looks amazing!
            I've waited for this games since last year since I found it in your website. however, I can't find any NTSC system in Canada, or even US. Do you schedule to launch in north america later. I don't think Pal system compatible to us.
            Please reply. Thanks
            :) :) :)

              Those people in the videos don't know how to play.

              Let me explain how getting the power you want for a shot works:

              There's basically two phases to getting the power you want on the shot. Phase 1 is getting the power you want on screen, to do this you keep waggling the cue about until you get the power you want (this is shown by the yellow metre), once you've got the power you want you move onto phase 2. Phase 2 is basically your player actually taking the shot. You thrust (or gently push more like) the cue forward like you did in phase 1 except this time holding down the B button. The power of the shot will be what you made it in phase one, which is shown by the yellow meter on the top of the screen. Whilst holding down the B button it makes no difference how fast/slow (I usually just knock it forward gently with one hand) you push the cue forward because the shot power will just be that shown by the yellow meter. There's no point trying to go into a 'professional snooker player stance with the bridge hand' (that's just needless and silly), I just sit down and waggle the cue through my loose fist (I suppose you could call that a bridge) or sometimes just waggling it with one hand. I suppose when you look at the shot taking place on the screen it feels like you're cueing, but really in terms of physical action with the cue, its not much like real life cueing at all.

              The cue is cool and a very nice accessory, and although I've had few problems with it, the cue makes judging the power of the shots less accurate and I wish you had the choicen of just pressing a button. Saying that having the cue makes the shot power much more precise than just the Wii controller on its own. And another thing, be careful with the cue because if you get slightly annoyed and knock it against your leg then you'll find out how delicate it is.

              By the way, I love the game and I'm absolutely addicted to it . The controls have a slight learning curve plus they seem a bit gimmicky, but other than WSC Real 08 is fantastic .

              P.S: To Blade Interactive, is there any chance of next year's Wii edition will have online multiplayer? Because I thinks the Wii version is let down by the lack of this feature (playing dumb CPU opponents gets boring after a while ).

                Cueing

                @Table_of_Reds

                As you say, you can take a practice shot to set the power, and then take the real shot by holding B. However, you can choose how much you want your real shot to be influenced by your practice shot. In the options menu you will find a slider called Shot Aid. At 0% your real shot is completely detached from your practice shot, and you have to use skill to reproduce the same power level, at 100% the real shot will be identical to the practice shot, at 50% the real shot is influenced by the practice shot i.e. is gravitates towards the same power level.

                Presumably you must have it set to 100%, but you can adjust to your tastes.

                  When will there be videos for the PC version?

                  Also:

                  Will the Mosconi Cup be included?
                  Can you now take the shot in 1st person, like in 'Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker'?
                  How many snooker and pool players are in the game (proper ones, not made up amateurs)?
                  And can you move around the table in 1st person?

                  What are the minimum and recommended specs?

                    @Blade:

                    I'm quite interested in this game... but I had a disappointing experience with the Wii snooker cue I bought some months ago (see it here)
                    I mean, the infra-red signal from the wiimote is often disturbed by your hand bridge or the cue itself... I tested it with the small pool game in the Wii Sport pack, it was simply unplayable ! I brought back the cue to the shop...

                    How does it look like with the one included in WSC Real 08 ? no problems at all ? I would be surprised...

                    Beside this, do you confirm that you can control the weight you put in the cue ball when you deliver the shot, like you do in "real life" ?

                    Thank you ! ... and sorry for my bad English !

                      @Sodapop

                      The Pool game in Wii Play uses the sensor to crudely triangulate the position of the Cue, we found this was not very accurate and as you say using a Cue the signal is easily blocked.

                      For WSC Real 08 we used the Wii's accelorometers instead of the sensor, like those used in Wii Sports tennis, bowling, golf etc. To get this right took a lot of time, but the result is far more accurate and the sensor does not get blocked by the Cue. In fact we have tuned the controls to work as best as possible with the Cue.

                      Yes, the power you apply to you Cue relates to the power of your shot.

                        Thanks for the answers !
                        Maybe I'll put it on my wish list for XMas, then !

                        Will there be a sequel, with some improvements such as an online mode, better graphics, Wii Motion Plus compatibility... ?

                          @Blade. Why is there no mention of a PC version on that site? Don't tell me it's been cancelled...
