I have the game, and I don't like the way you can play ridiculous shots like screwing two lengths of the table from being tight on the baulk cushion. This ruins the game a bit.
Aesthetically the players don't play like real players. They are always playing the shot standing up. This also p1sses me off.
Other than that I think it's quite good!

I also own this game for about 2 weeks now, and I really like it.
My record so far:
- High break: 75
- Trophy: UK 8 Ball, Shanghai Master
The cue works quite nicely, although it is difficult to execute slow shot (unless you set the shot aim quite high).
At some points, the computer opponent is too strong. Especially Ronny, he almost won every match.
I have no problem with potting the ball (my potting skill: 100), but once you miss the safety shot against top player, that will be the end of it.
Important skills to invest:
- Potting (obvious, make it to 100)
- Pressure
- Spin (your spin will be more accurate)

I got this for crimbo and admit i've only played on it a couple of times, partly coz i'm not that impressed with it.
I just can't seem to judge the power of shots properly and the white just trickles away from the cue???
perhaps its just me, or am i doing something wrong?
I havn't actually completed a single frame yet coz i just get pi$$ed off and turn it off before i snap the cue in half!?
Any hints or tips to help me?:snooker:

Here:
- Go to Options, and set the "Shot Aim" to more than half
- Prepare your shot by aiming to a ball
- When you shot, hold the B button all the time. Do not just press it!
- While holding the B button, strike-push the cue to the front steady, not to slow. Give push ... short push or long push will give you different power.
That's it. Remember the "Shot Aim" setting ... and a bit push.
Don't waggle too much before the real shot because it will change the power.
So, watch out the power (the YELLOW color in the big cue ball on the top left). If you dont see some yellow color ... resetting the power by doing the shot without holding the B button.
One other thing:
Where do you place the Wii sensor bar?
If you place it below the TV, then you should sit in the couch when doing the shot. This is important, otherwise it is difficult to register the shot. At least this is based on my experience.
NOTE: You can also set the "Shot Aim" to FULL (maximum). In this case, your shot power will "always" be same with the yellow power-meter. So, do the shot without holding the B button (practice shot), then do the real shot. This is very easy, do practice shot to get the best position of the cue ball, then shot!
NOTE: Snooker table is quite big, most of the time I found 2 yellow bars are more or less the guidelines.
Hope this helps! And let us know the result.

i have read alot of negative response about wii wsc 08, not on here, but elsewhere. i can understand what people are saying, but it's just down to practice makes perfect.
firstly the graphics are fine to me, there never going to be ps3, pc or xbox360standard, but nowhere near as bad as people say. you need to look beyond the graphics sometime!
secondly, if you are having trouble with the cue, which i did, then play without. some can play with no problems with cue as they find it easier. i myself, found that i could play better with hands further apart, as if holding a real sized cue. to me the cue just reminded me of being in the pub where theres no space to play and need the little cue. as a result, i play more accurate power shots and feel less restricted.
lastly, people may feel the computer is just too hard. i myself was in that boat and found it hard to master. however, over the months, i practiced, practiced, practiced and now almost made 20th in career. ronnie always beat me, but lately i have beat and knocked him out in most quarter, semi and finals and even made two 141 breaks. i have even won 3 finals this season, with 3 tournaments left to play. where as i used to believe it was impossible, i know have the confidence to win more and more.
all this was achieved without using skill points as i have built up over 200+, but never going to use them as no need to and like keeping things a little more difficult.
i am not alone, as there are others that have achieved as good results.
so next time people think that they can't do it, just remember, you can. you just need to believe in yourself and i hope that mine and other scores and results will incourage people to stick with it.
blade interactive have done a great job with this game, whether i use the cue or not. as far as i'm concerned, once you get the hang of the wii sensor for power, it's alot easier than you first think. i have a 360 and although it will have better graphics, i wanted something more interactive, as fed up with just pressing buttons. don't get me wrong, everyone is different, so may prefer using buttons. i just like being involved in at least something a little more than exercising my thumbs. it just adds to the realism that bit more, which just edges other versions for me, as it is always going to lose the graphics battle.
good luck to everyone, whether wii, xbox360, or ps3, etc, as where all going to be winners.
maybe some may feel that blade are not putting enough effort in, what they could. i personally feel they have done there best, especially seeming as i have seen some terrible games over the years that you can clearly see have had no effort put in. if blade did that with this, i would have stopped playing it along time ago.
cheers and 2 thumbs up to BLADE INTERACTIVE. keep up the amazing work.
