Because I have never seen in other game except VP3.

And to be honest, the reason I don't like VP3 ... is this mouse controlled cueing I hate that, it makes my arm feel pain.
I seriously doubt if mouse cueing is copyrighted and even if it was, there'd be a way round that: call it something else. Since it didn't have a special name, I don't think they would've bothered with copyright anyway, but if they did then as I said, call it something else. The best example I can think of off the top of my head is Pizza Hut's Stuffed Crust. Within weeks of that coming out, competitors had copied it, usually calling it Stuffed Edge or something along those lines.

WSC needs mouse cueing (the option at least) to move forwards. That line of JV's sums it all up:

' I might be going crazy, but I swear I can hear someone pressing buttons. Pretty much every time someone lines up a shot! Ah well...'

SNOOKER IS NOT ABOUT PRESSING BUTTONS, BLADE!

I have missed a gentle pot so many times because I misjudged the power (shots I'd never miss on a real table). With mouse cueing, you would eventually get used to the speed of the table and be able to judge the power so much more accurately. And without it being spoon-fed to you as well.

    • Mouse cueing is not exclusive to VP3, Jimmy White's Cueball also uses it.

      • OK, got a couple of questions:

        1. Do the cues you unlock make any difference? There doesn't seem to be any way of seeing any kind of stats/details of them - just a picture and that's it.

        2. How can you properly walk around the table? In "walk mode" the camera is always centred around the white, meaning I often can't line it up to see if a ball pots somewhere on the table. Is there a way of shifting the focus to another ball? I'm playing the PC version.

        Cheers for any help.

        • The fact that more people are spending time on this thread instead of actually playing the game says it all.
Give us some answers blade !

Totally agree. I have the PC version, and to say it is diabolical is an understatement. I have been awaiting a 'promised' reply to my email for 10 days (although I suspect that I am not alone in that kind of shoddy treatment). I have had to turn off some of the sound features in the game as they need patching, so that takes away the atmosphere of the tournaments and does not give me any incentive to carry on in the game.

The overall impression I have gained since installing the game is, well, crap I cannot sum it up any other way without resorting to much stronger langiuage.
I feel cheated by Blade, as if they have got the money and then run off. For a game that has cost me £30 and was constantly put back for 12 months, the developers should be ashamed to even be in the business at all.

The way they have be conspicuous by their absence in replying to people on this board gives me the impression they have given us three fingers, one on the left and two on the right.

But we are not aware of Blade's intentions. Are they patch all/some/nothing of the problems?

                  • their website states "We are aware of an issue with online play for PS3 - a patch will be released shortly to fix this" or words to that effect. This message has been up for weeks, since just after release. I spoke to Blade on the phone and emailed and they assured me that a patch would be released "very shortly" which doesn't usually mean months down the line...

Not for me, needing an interational phonecall.
Hopefully sombody else will do that.

                          • Blade1: Dude, check our bug database.

Blade2: Be specific, there are a lot of entries there.

Blade1: That bug id 0023412, PS3 online got disconnected.

Blade2: Ah, that one. I think Blade3 is working on that, no?

Blade1: I think so too, but Blade3 is on vacation now for 4 weeks.

Blade2: Oh well, we have to wait him then.

Blade1: Have you read people screaming in the forum? I think we have to fix this asap.

Blade2: Dont worry, they can always play single player mode for a while.

Blade1: Oh crap. Btw, shall we play VP3 now? I will beat you again!

                            Both Blades: *Lol*

                            • As someone else said, there are other games besides VP3 that have mouse-controlled cueing. Live Billiards 2 is one. It's a pretty good snooker game.

I tried WSC 09, but it's so un-intuitve that I have given up. The lack of mouse-controlled cueing is a dealbreaker as far as I'm concerned. Plus all those overlays. I was actually trying to pot a ball but couldn't because the HUD overlay hid the pocket! Look at VP3 Blade, the screen is much cleaner, and so is the colour nomination.

                              • Why the hell can't you save the game between frames, it says saving game data but when you go back it's 0-0.
