I just hope it runs smoother than 07 it's difficult to set up the spin and set up the shot as it moves too quickly on 07

      I am confused.
Most websites from gameshops call this game World Snooker Championship REAL 2008 and not 09.
Are they mentioning an older game, or has the name changed after it was postponed several times?
I am talking about the PS3 version, not the WII-version.

Thank you, that clears things up. Koch media is who distributes the game, right?
Hopefully it will be in the ( Dutch ) shops this week.

well blade, this is a pre warning!!

some of us have the 08 wii version and although great, the computer was a little silly with too many ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, ronnie wins. reading the ronnies is just a way of showing how the game relates to ummmmmmmmm, what's the name, oh yeah, ronnie!!!

a lot of people are concerned about going for 09 on wii this year due to the lack of additions, including no online. although this is the case, some have admitted that if there was a more even, realistic game, then they may decide to purchase.

so i'm going to wait for the release and tell the truth about this game in order to give them confidence in purchasing.

i know the game is finished, so i just prey that it's been dealt with, as there are going to be some unhappy people when i give them the news!!!!

please don't let me down as i'll have to give them the bad news!!!

i hope that all the versions are as good as you say.

as the ps3, xbox360 and pc are out this week, perhaps some of you nice people can give your views on whether you come across this same problem, when playing the computer. does ronnie, ronnie, ronnie, keep winning tournaments and feels a little annoying. oh, that's if you can drag yourselves away from online matches and play the computer only that is!!!

I hope it won't be like that in the other versions, it would really spoil things

Got it about 10minutes ago thanks to GAME and looks really good and alot of the issues I thought would be a problem are fine, so I wouldn't worry. One thing to say that the attributes building system which you amass from coaching shots and matches look like theyre going to build up slowly so its going to take a couple of seasons to get going. I'm really pleased with it and I'll be adding updates to this for the people yet to get it. Is there any questions you'd like answering? please remember though I have the PC version of the game so other version specific questions I'm not going to have the answer to.

                  This isn't a 1 april joke?
What I like to know is if they changed the system to shoot the ball?
Still selecting power from that bar and applying side from that ball before you shoot?
Or is it now like Virtual Pool 3, where you really move the cue to shoot?

It's really not a joke, and u'll be pleased to hear there is NO swing system thankgod, its all adjusted before your shot on a gauge. I was worried about that too.

There might be a subtle swing system that you can achieve with the Right Joystick. It was just like that in the 07 version. May be wrong though ever since I don't have the game yet.

I'm tempted by the PS3 version but I'm more than a bit worried at the lack of reviews online. That usually does not bode well when the game has not been sent out to the big game websites for reviews at least a week or so before release. In fact there's been virtually no promotion whatsoever.

Hoping someone with the PS3 version can allay my fears before I splash any cash on this.

How good are the graphics overall?

Yeah please remember I'm playing the PC version only so I have no idea if the Ps3 or xbox 360 versions will have a swing system.

On the PC version with everything on High apart from anti-alis I'm attually really impressed, they've done a good job with the graphics of the players and of course the snooker itself. Plays really smooth and I've had no problems, just for clarifications the graphics card I'm using is an old Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS

I think it plays great too.....but lack of online via the PC version as i've already highlighted via other threads is a major no no IMO. Will eventually end up getting boring playing on your own.
