Sorry for getting back to you guys so late, nursing a stomach bug. To answer someones question about the commentry I think the commentry is better, for example in my last match I over used top spin and came the wrong side of the blue and John Virgo attually said 'hes put too much top on that or something to that affect. So I think they've really tried to make everything better and it seems to respond a bit better to your actions than the previous games where the commentry was very very hit and miss. On other notes for people who are interested, the positioning 'bubble' is back from the previous games but can be turned off as can hints displayed.

It needs to be turned off
What about the aiming aids....is there an aiming aid option like in the 2004/2005 version, where u CAN see the arrows in 3d view, but NOT in top view ?
This makes the game much more interesting, and makes people go for safetyplay.

Lets say easy/normal/expert.
easy had all long arrows with top view arrows
normal had shorter arrows with no top view arrows
expert had super short arrows with no top view arrows

I've got a funny feeling that you may have to unlock more of the pool tournaments. I was playing around in the program files blade folder and I went to the SFX/Streams folder and played some of the sounds. I was playing comments like......welcome to the first round of the world pool league.....welcome to the first round of the US Open (some of what was in the last game) Might not be a disaster after all for us PC folk.

Hoping someone with the PS3 version can allay my fears before I splash any cash on this.
I got the PS3 version yesterday I've only played 1 match on it thus far as I was working so I don't have a lot of exeperience withit yet the only issue is for me you have to use the left stick to line the shots up and have always fund te sticks to be fiddly and thus prefer the D-pad but otherwise most of the issues I have had with the 07 game have been more or less sorted in this one it's still tricky to line the shot up as it is still pretty quick but it's not as bad as before and the spin is easy to set up compared to 07 you just hold R1 and waggle the Right stick until it's in place the graphics are really sharp and very good

I've never had a console snooker game, only a PC one where you swing the cue with the mouse. How do you control the cue swing using a joypad and what's it like to use?
You don't you adjust the power before your shot using the gage in the top corner then just press x to fire/take the shot
