    cheers for the reply,

thats the one thing that also pee'd me off was the amount of stuff on 07 i couldnt play because u need to unlock, i dont have the time to play through season after season,

i wish they would make more things available instead of having to unlock

The game is crap. WSC 2004 still beats the hell out of this game. Cueball control is not natural.

              Terrible.

In what way is it not natural? Please elaborate...

I CANNOT believe that they have kept the exact same commentary in from the last game! This is a disgrace and in all honesty a **** take. What have they actually been doing for the last 2 years?

The only improvements that I can see is a better front end with more player stats and so forth. The rest of the game is pretty much identical. (Do we actually need promotions unlocked such as aftershaves and perfumes! Who cares! The time making those additions would have been better spent elsewhere! INSANE!)

I literally could not believe what I was hearing when John Vergo started saying the exact same recordings as he did in the previous game. NOT IMPRESSED.

yes i was disappointed with the commentary after playing the 09 version for the first time yesterday. All three commentators come out with very much the same one liners as on previous versions with a few "new" ones added in. overall i think the game is a (pretty) good improvement to the 2007 version. One thing that does niggle me a little though is when you have made all the adjustments to your shot and you play a screw shot i've never see the cue strike down when the shot is about to be played. i know it may not sound that important to some but it helps add to the realisim of the game.

Yes the cue doesn't alter its angle. I've also noticed a lot of clipping issues too with the graphics.

As long as they have fixed the problem in the previous version that meant I could never (or at least for a very long time) get into the top 16 and therefore never play in the Masters and other tournaments.

My game came through last night and like the others have said I cannot believe that it is the same commentry. I've not had a chance to have a good couple of hours on the game yet but I don't notice much of a difference to warrant another 30 quid and a full year of a delay when I played a versus match last night.

Bit of a dissapointment to be honest. If I still had 2007 if probably just trade this 2009 version in and get another game.

hmmmmmm guys im not so sure, just got the game and i rushed home to play
but theres a couple of issues for me,

it seems you can't have a look at you're shot from a different angle like you could in 07 when you would press L1 i think and you would be able to see it from two different angles, when i discovered how to do that it improved me big time so not being able to do that means il be rubbish methinks,

looks like interest in online is not existent as usual, have made a 9 ball room and have been waiting 40 mins for someone to appear, although its still early days i know

doesnt appear to be any major 9 ball tournaments because i was looking at locations while setting up my online game, no major 9 ball venues at all while all the snooker halls were playable, il have a look though

why on earth have they got this 8 ball season, does anyone prefer 8 ball over 9 ball, im not so sure, you can tell im a 9 ball fan

on the plus side the menus look very nice and the graphics have improved, the new shot system will take a while to get used to, despite this very negative post im still happy with it overall and will now start my career, still a little afraid of online being as unpopular as last time

                            sorry also forgot to add,

the ability to walk around the table is a good addition, gives you a great chance to see the angles etc, definite plus mark for that

Well I've bitten the bullet and bought it.

This is my first console snooker/pool game, i'm used to PC versions, so I'm finding the control mechanism a bit restrictive and limiting in terms of immersion in the game.

The graphics are nice enough (i suppose there's only so much you can do with a snooker game), the commentary is decent if a bit repetitive, there's plenty of stats to judge how you're improving match by match but the daft endorsements seem a pretty pointless inclusion - I guess it's just there so you have plenty of stuff to try and unlock.

The biggest improvement needed for me would be the ability to use an analogue stick to swing the cue or even finding a way of using the sixaxis for this - it's no Wiimote but I still think it could be done.

Overall, it's snooker and if you like snooker you'll probably find something to enjoy. But it's hard to be blown away by it.
