I'm going to check if 2005 is backward compatible on 360 because 2009 is getting traded in very soon.
I only got 2009 thinking there would be some online activity. Over the weekend I tried to get some online matches and managed about two! Bear in mind this was the launch weekend for the game - I tried searching for quick match, custom match and even hosted matches but spent virtually all the time waiting in a lobby or seeing a message saying "Could Not find a match"
words fail me on just how much WSC 2009 has disappointed............

360 version
Finished 1 match best of 3 (I won 2-1 )
Second game it said my opponent had quit (after about 4 minutes) - although I suspect he got the same message on his screen...... I suspect it was a disconnect issue
2005 is not backwards compatible on 360 so I will try the PS2 version of 2005 on by BC PS3...

Loaded WSC 2009 back up and went into season screen. It finally acknowledged that I was in a match but every time it loaded up the score was 0-0

As well as all the bugs that you guys have pointed out, and the fact that Blade seem allergic to the concept of actually playing on/watching a real snooker table in order to get the sounds/physics spot on, for me the main problem with this entire series is the complete lack of skill required!
In real snooker, the skill of potting is about knowing where on the ball you need the cueball to hit in order to pot the object ball. In this game, it does it for you! All you have to do is move the arrows around until it shows the ball will go in. Where is the skill in that?? Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker (the original game) had it nailed way back. For those who aren't old enough to have played it you had a line that you had to put on the o/b where you thought the c/b needed to hit in order to pot it. It required skill, but it was still possible to play the game and make breaks! Now, where is the skill?
Blade, either junk this skillfree system or give us an option to play using a system similar to the one outlined above!
One other thing. This video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXrjf5Yd9cg
which is supposed to be PC footage looks massively inferior to this one:
http://www.youtube.com/user/BladeInteractive
Have they given the PC inferior graphics, just like with the Fifa 09 nonsense?
And this one is actual in game play. Once again, it looks superior to the supposed PC version, by miles!

Edit: Can you still pot those shots along the cushion? You know, the type that are impossible in real life due to the middle pocket?Last edited by DavisFan76; 6 April 2009, 06:17 PM.Mobo: GA-P35-S3

I remember JW Snooker it was a right laugh with the balls making faces at you!
There are a couple of minor niggles too with the real 09
Upon seeing the youtube videos that that guy was posted don't get me wrong its decent, but when you aim to put back spin on the cueball why does the cue aim to produce top spin?
I think the Audio sounds for the balls are a bit flimsey they should of been like the ones in the video that blade posted

And as well as the pocket sound. From what I see in the video that that guy has posted it's no were near perfect?

Do you have the PC version or the console version? If it's the former, can you please tell me that all versions have the same gfx at least?? That video you posted looks miles better than the supposed PC footage (which looks only slightly better than the goddamn Wii!)
(And I blooming hate that new snooker music. BBC didn't play with the F1 theme, so why did they have to ruin the snooker one??)Last edited by DavisFan76; 6 April 2009, 06:28 PM.Mobo: GA-P35-S3

Hi Mate
I don't think they need that sound with the cushion whats the need of it? I think its awful, maybe blade can fix that cue issue in a patch? As well as the sounds also? Its supposed to be wsc REAL 09 not something that's in the past!
I'm getting the PC version I'm hoping to have by Thursday I've ordered it from Amazon.
What snooker music do you mean?

The one that's on the official Blade trailers. Compare it to the original BBC music (not the updated rubbish version).
Post your views when you've played it a bit if you would, mate? Things such as whether the PC version looks as good as (or better than) the consoles, as it should.Mobo: GA-P35-S3
