Other companies (such as Creative Assembly) offer improved gameplay in patches, why not you, Blade? How hard would it be too include a new aiming system in a patch for example?

When you cue close on the cushion how do you lower the butt of the cue to make a clean shot?

Agreed re: aiming line though! Would love that style. Perhaps some user definable parameters for things like cushion speed would be good too. VP3 had all of these things.
Couldn't the cushion speed be modded? Are there any files people could get into to change certain parameters?

Good to know, here we go...
(PS3)

Game only works on controller 1, this is a pain as I leave my GH dongle plugged in and that always gets 1 so controllers have to be reassigned. This is the only game I've played with this behaviour.

About 50% of the times I use the game, the left/right directional buttons are reversed, noticed on the first game trying to put my name in. Since then, sometimes it's ok but sometimes not.

Setting the "gameface" - I can choose the width of my nose but only a few hairstyles and colours? The colour thing is annoying as you've implemented loads of colours for clothes but not hair, it seems like laziness not to identify hair colours. Menus are slow to change the main picture and accompanying text. No rotation of the figure I could find. (Try looking at the Tiger Woods series to see how it should be done)

Why no 9 ball in the menu?

It can be difficult to read the loading profile screens depending on where the very bright rotating background is. Why not dim it?

Initial match screen showing player stats - I just spent 20 mins creating a face, why do I have a silhouette in this screen?

And on to playing a game....

The new meter covers one of the pockets in top down view but there is plenty of room to move it to the left so it's on it's own. This makes it more difficult to aim than it should be.

There's no fine tune in the so called "Real" mode. Why not?

The balls are rendered too reflective, in real life, they have a gloss, they are not Christmas tree baubles.

And boy oh boy, those cushions - I've played snooker and pool for over 25 years at maybe 3-400 venues and I can tell you, the only cushions that sound and react like those in the game are the ones on a 15 year old pool table in some grotty bar where the table has beer stains on it and there's a big rip down the middle you have to play round. Even the folks who just watch snooker on the TV can tell how unrealistic they are. They sound bad and react REALLY bad. It's been pointed out on here already but a break off should be able to come off 3 or 4 cushions at 60-75% strength. At least the performance in the game is consistent so you can play around the limitation but I still cringe every time a ball comes off a cushion.

How can an AI player who has played like a muppet for the first part of a frame, only getting one and two ball breaks, suddenly come out after going 40 behind and clear the table taking on pots that Ronnie O'Sullivan wouldn't look at?

At the end of a game, the opposing player's hand is still in a cue grip but he's holding it at his crotch making it look like he's been interfering with himself.

In the challenges, why do I have to go out to the room and back in after failing, where's the retry option?

No trophies but some poxy rewards? The rewards look like they'd have been well suited to trophies along with things like first 50 break, century break, winning a game from behind while requiring snookers with something like winning the WC scoring a 147 in the final for platinum. Why no trophies? Again, sounds like laziness to me.

On the pool table, balls are way to shiny and far to difficult to tell apart to plan a run of shots. And what's with the monster ball nomination spinny thing?

That's all I can think of right now. (Haven't tried on line due to the comments on here.)

Over the years, I've spent a lot of money on this series on PC, PSP and now PS3 and I can firmly say, I won't be spending any more. I can see why you didn't release a demo, anybody playing a frame or two certainly wouldn't pay full price. For the quality of the game, this should be 4 or 5 GBP in the PSN store, not high cost retail.

I'm left feeling disappointed and ripped off.

i have my ps3 wireless and i have a router but i
play call of duty 4/5 and i have never had any problems with connection during
these games so i would be glad if you have any help as im starting to feel
disappointed and a bit ripped of as this game is quite alot of money to say you

Yes, you're right about the info that Blade have released re the patch, so not sure why this representative didn;t mention this. Port Forwarding doesn't solve the DC issue on the PS3, although it is necessary to make sure these ports are open anyway...

i havent got any ports open with the above number ports and i can still access the platstation network, and other games that i own do not play up like this game is doing.
like davisfan said, this game sounds like its in beta version, blade ought to withdraw all the ps3 games out the shops and release this game when its properly tested on all platforms. this is a joke, 34.99 could have got me a blow job or 10:snooker:

i read that article dave, blade interactive ought to stick there heads right up there a s ses for the way theyve gone about this fiasco, how dare they charge so much for a game thats not complete. but if they do bring a patch out to fix the issue for the ps3, we snooker fans must demand that they release an online competition for cash prizes and not only that will benefit us , it will also benefit blade as there sales for the game will rocket. thats if they go about it the right way, such as advertising the competition through media, there surely onto a winner if they do this.

you probably have UPNP activated on your router which I think means the ports are opened automatically...so if theory you have got these ports open...

Spot on. The lack of online play on the platform that invented it (the PC), is totally unacceptable.
