Is it too much to ask for a line coming out from the center like in Jimmy White's Cueball World?

WSC can learn a lot from the above game. I would be playing Jimmy White Cueball World if my computer could play it. Unfortunely because it's an old game, on many newer hardware, the game runs in fast forward mode. I understand there is a patch to fix this issue, but then the game crashes randomly in the middle of a game... unplayable.
Spot on. Also, the option, just the option to use the mouse to cue! That way, you at least get a bit of the tactile nature of the game!

JV: 'Is it me, or do I hear someone pressing buttons? Every time a player takes a shot, in fact!'

Ha, ha. Very funny. It's lines like this that only serve to make us wonder how much better this game would be with a tactile cueing method like the mouse. I don't expect them to release a WiiCue for the PC, but mouse cueing? Why not, Blade? We'd like to know why you persist in not using the PC's capabilites, namely the mouse, to make the best game possible? Even the consoles have an option to use the damn thumb-sticks, not a good option, but at least the option is there! As well as this, how hard would it be to implement an aiming system similar to that one shown above? An answer would be very nice, Blade. It's a fun game, but snooker is about using your skill to be able to hit the o/b in the right place to pot it/execute a safety shot. Not lining up arrows until you can see them point directly at a pocket!

More options, Blade. That's all we ask...

    • Ok I will rephrase it to........

"whether you think it's worth parting with £18 of your cash for a first person view, plus all the bugs/issues the game comes with

      Only you can decide that!"

      • lolz, there are 4 ratings for that game on that site and all of them are 1 star.
On amazon, the game has a rating of 2.5/5. I guess that sums up this game, for the PC.

Round mate's again to watch football, so another good session on the game and from what I've seen so far, it deserves at least three stars. Other than the 'save bug' (which I haven't yet encountered), what would you say are the main issues? I mean, the ball physics for fine cuts are completely messed up, the cushions sound and react badly, the AI makes some odd shot choices sometimes, but other than that, I don't see what's wrong with it.

It clearly states in game that if you use the "quit" option you will lose progress in the current match. Simply do as the above poster says and exit to dashboard or turn off console but DO NOT select quit!

It is rather silly to not have a "save and quit" option, but the people who think you have to leave your xbox ON are simply wrong, and I've played 25%, 50% and 100% matches and this works for all.
It does say you'll lose your progress, but I've found that if I drop out after a frame is finished, the match state is as I left it.

            • Those are fairly serious bugs that would warrant a lot less than 4 stars

The whole game is a wreck. 1/5 is fairly accurate.

              • OK i have had the game for a few days now. A couple of points i dont like....the game seems to stutter on all graphical settings and im not sure why, all other games run oh so smooth, but this does not..the cue ball is jerky on movement.

The profile changer is not good, faces, body shapes do not change when highlighted...and the hairstyle preview is non existent. When you choose the shaven head hairstyle a strange floating wig follows you around the table.

Good points...looks fantastic, tournaments are superb....i think there is a fantastic game here...just need a patch to iron out the niggles.

Specifically? From what I've seen, I like the game. The only thing that will decide whether or not I buy it for myself is whether you stand a chance against top professionals if you make a mistake and spread the reds round the table. In real life, there's no guarantee that they'll always clean up, but in earlier versions from the series they do far too often. One mistake and they're halfway to a 147! I want to see them more susceptible to pressure, just as they are in real life. Also, they took on some truly ridiculous shots that most players just wouldn't spot in real life, even people like Ronnie O'Sullivan. Are the top pros more realistic now: challenging and extremely hard to beat, but you do get a chance every now and then if you earn it?

What are your specs? The game runs beautifully on my mate's machine (similar specs to mine), with everything turned up high. As for the wig floating around the table, agreed it's unacceptable but it doesn't break the game.

                  • If any of those points alone make it a "non broken game" I worry. I wouldn't buy a car and accept that every now and then the wheels are going to wander off in separate directions. It may very well be a nice car, but if it's going to do that, you're an idiot for buying it

                    Yeah, sorry TVR owners

Unfortunately I tried many various things. Each time I waited until the very start of the frame when the "Autosave" sequence finished. I went straight back to Dashboard, I turned the console off, everything except the quit button. When I turn the game back on and go to "Next Match" it returns me to the same fixture but at 0-0.

The points you raise ( in particular about the ball physics and the badly reacting cushions ) are very important things and should be fine...

I honestly think with regard to gameplay this is brilliant.

                              • Well as far as the Save Game Feture or lack of it on the PC at least I seem to have made a bit of progress. If you exit the match at the start of a frame and then completely quit the game, after loading everything back up if you immediately play next match the game resumes from where you left off.

However should you forget to go to next match and fiddle with your profile or do anything which autosaves before going to next match you lose the lot!!!!

Also if the game does resume the stats only show your stats for that session and not what happened before you resumed?!!!???!!

When ref replaces balls no reflections etc show on the ball until after score updates which looks a bit strange????

Also seen as Im bald and would like a bald player can we fix the wig issues floating around the screen???!!

Can I ask Blade to be on the system test team for WSCReal 2010 these seem simple bugs which should of been picked up on before release
