  • hello everyone have bought the game last week and i have found a few niggles with it so far and hoping for some improvements if they implement a patch.

    1. when you are sitting in your chair when the ai player is playing you cannot see the green corner side pocket i think the camera could do with being zoomed out a little so you can see all of the table.

    2. Walk around mode. this needs to be improved as when you go around the table you cannot see what balls are pottable from the default view or in one of the previous versions i cannot remember which one you clicked on a ball and you would be able to move around.

    3. there should be a logging system of how many centuries you have made or implement it in commentary as saying this could be his 20th century this season or so you get at what i am trying to say.

this is just my opinion on what needs doing but everyone else is different and have different points of view.

On the PS3 if you quit using the PS3 system by pressing the PS button and choosing "Quit Game", rather than the in game quit option, your progress in the game so far is saved.

      • When playing an online game, I would like the player's online ranking to be shown before you commit to the game.

The guys near the top of the rankings are way too good for me and I don't really want to just sit there and watch them clear the table every time. It would be better if there was a way for players of similar ranking level to play so that the game play is a bit more balanced.

Maybe the game could display a list of available rooms which also listed the host's ranking. It would then be possible to select a room where you might get a better game at your own standard

        • I would just like to declare my support for this game. It is a much better game than the last one (2007), and making a really good break isn't hard, and also, the char models actually look somewhat like the people they are supposed to represent. The voice over before each tourny is good, but I would really like to see some sort of Amatuer bit before becoming a pro. Having a guy tell you in your first ever event that you should be winning this tourny is daunting. The pool mode doesn't really work, and it doesn't look like there is any 9 Ball on it at all. Only is better, and I could actually get through a few games before getting bored of having to watch all the stupid cut-scenes. Still, Ronnie and some of the other pros often play impossible shots. It really annoys me when they play a shot that is otherwise impossible to get, play it and sometimes smash into the pack, and clear up with no punishments, because they never miss these shots. Still, really fun to play/

          I wish someday, I will witness a 155 break.

          • I am playing WSC 09 some weeks now. Although i love the game of snooker i am still disappointed with this game for quite a few reasons.

            1. As a top-16 player you still have to play the qualifiers. A serious difference with the real snookerworld.

            2. Unrealistic gameplay: you can put backspin on the cueball when he is tight to the cushion (try this on a real snookertable, simply impossible!) Every AI opponent uses this type of shot.

            3. Most of the top players in AI will frequently pot balls from the most impossible positions, really annoying and frustrating because you can hardly win a match that way.

            4. Otherwise AI players sometimes deny to pot the most obvious balls, even when they are over the pocket. A 5-year old kid will pot these.

            5. As a beginner you are already seedes number 52 in the world ranking of a total 96 players.

            6. Impossible to save between frames, although the save function appears in the menu.

Conclusion: no real changes compared to WSC 2007 as stated elsewhere on this forum. I will mail these comments to Blade and hopefully they keep this in mind for future releases. It's possible though to produce games that are realistic to the real thing. NHL 09 from EA is such a game, and with stunning graphics also. If they can do it, so must Blade! What have they been doing for almost 2 years with this game? Maybe World Snooker must take their franchise to Electronic Arts.

I'm the same I prefer to try and get things accurate too I guess it's lucky for us that snooker isn't a timed game as I like to think my shots through too when playing the computer

Fifa's the same very realistic and the F1 champ edition game is very realistic too
EA do make good sports hgames the only qualm I have wit hthem is they don't have easy to use controls for some of their games or controls you can alter as I generally prefer to use the D Pad instead of the sticks although they fixed this with Fifa 09 compared with 08 they still need to do it with many of their other games NBA is a good example of this

I agree, but that's the challenge of the game. If you practise enough you will get used to the controls and when you are you will get something back in return: a fantastic sportsgame. I prefer that then playing a game with easier controls and lack of realism. When you make a sportsgame you have to make sure that it has the same feeling and rules like the sport in real life. Games are expensive enough, so players want value for their money!
I am not saying that WSC 09 is crap, but it needs more and further improvement to be a top sportsgame.

I have tried but I can't unfortunatel;y being disabled playing games that way is more of a frustration than a challenge though and for me not likely to end up getting bought or played very often that's why I think games should have alteravble controls then you make it as hard or as easy as you can so it isn't a frustration I enjoy a challenge as much as ever yother gamer but I also like my game to be playable by that I mean controls I can use besides I think most of the games are realistic nowadays thanks to the power of the graphics cards in games consoles

                      That's it.

If you think the aim aids are too easy ... you have a way to turn it off.

If you think the computer is too hard to beat ... you have a way to lower its difficulty level.

That, my friend, will very much satisfy most of the players, if not all.

And I cant understand they don't do that.

Why? Oh yes, you are correct, it is a World Championship of Snooker .. We suppose to play against those pro players in a simulated way.

Then what? Do I have to practice and practice to be able to beat robot Ronny? Get over it, no I wont. I is not realistic anyway.
Exactly tht's why the aiming aids are there I wouldn't stand a chasnce of beating the big guns without then yes I love a challenge but I'd at least like a challenge I think I can rise t and I have beatyen Ronnie on the 05 version at least but I don't beat him every time even with the aids

                      • I do quite enjoy the game but several things are unrealistic like the following
                        1) Graphics ain't hugely good.
                        2) There miss easy balls which them type of players wouldn't normally miss.
                        3) The computer take on shots that you wouldn't dream of doing in real life.
) All in all it's about 6/10 for me, I'm looking forward to WSC10.

                        Peace

I agree about the fact the computer does take a few weird shots but as for missing easy ones under pressure even the big guns miss a few shots now and then especially if they get a kick or bad contactI suppose that s the way of the cmputer incorporating it into the game because I can't think of any otherway they could do it and give people a chance of beating the big guns

For technology these days the graphics do lack a bit also which slightly annoys me, theres a few glitches in the game too like your players hand/cue is still on the table and the white balls goes through it, I've noticed other ones but that is just of the top of my head.

Hopefully '10 will be better because I'm rather bored of this now I have no challenge there is no difficulty settings and without being bigheaded I struggle to get beat by any of the computer players.

There should also be british pool on it red and yellows unfortunately there isn't neither, oh well what a bummer...

There is british pool on 05 though you'll be pleased t know I don't play it much though as I prefer the snooker and you can only play friendly/exhibition matches on it it dosen't have the tournaments like the snooker does
