Hi,

Just got the game today for the PlayStation 3 (UK PAL), and i am not overly pleased with it.

First of all, why is there no Custom In Game Music??

This is criminal, i had the previous games on the Xbox 360, and In Game Music was on all of them, i am really disappointed that it has been omitted. Please, is it possible to patch it in?


Secondly, Why is there no Trophies for this game? I have no doubts that the Xbox as always will have Achievements, but why not the PS3 having Trophies? Again will this be patched in, in the future?

Finally, the Player Customisation is just woeful. First of all lets get to the skin. What do i do if i am neither Caucasian or Afro-Caribbean? As they are the only options to create from. What about the other minorities? Asian (Indian), Asian (Chinese/Oriental)? Are they not supposed to or allowed to play Snooker/Pool?

The menu's are fuzzy, as in there is not crispness to the text (it is not my tv), the only things that look polished is the Table and Balls.


I know nothing can be done about the ethnicity of the Characters, but it is something you Blade Interactive should consider for the next game, please. Snooker and Pool like most sports is a Sport for everyone. I don't think it is right that you give the impression it is just for two different types of Race.

Ive got to agree with the above post on the trophies front? i mean how hard is it to put them in, the game has been being worked on for over a year so it cant be cause it was a last minute job! I loved the old 2007 version of this game and was particuarly looking forward to this version with trophy enhancement, am waiting on shopto.net to deliver till i can play but at the moment ive got to say i feel a bit disheartened by the lack of trophy news.

Can someone at blade please pull there finger out and patch it please!!

Have to agree shin i'm disappointed that there aren't any trophies too, i like the replay value, and not adding custom soundtracks is annoying, however i'm still going to buy it cheap second hand.

I would have bought it straight away if it had trophies, i did send an email to blade a few months ago telling them that trophies are important and that quite a lot of gamers are refusing to buy games that don't support trophies but obviously they decided to ignore me ah well their loss, second hand copy for me

lol, the fact that you could only pick up on the return part of my whole post, most likely invalidates your post altogether.

The fact is, there are issues with the game, such as the Lack of Trophies, and In Game Music. I am willing to bet Xbox has both In Game Music and Achievements.

So why shaft the PS3 user base?


Also, the character creation is a joke, the world is not just full of Caucasian and Afro Caribbean. Did that even get approval from the governing bodies of Snooker before it was included? As it clearly gives the impression that if your not that colour/race you don't play Snooker.

Rather surprising because the likes of Ding Junhui is in the game etc.

Perhaps because Xbox has a more extended LIVE Network, don't know? I find the Achievements on Xbox LIVE very challenging. That's why at the moment i play more on xbox 360 instead on PS3. But you're right, they should pay more attention at PS3 players.

Well i am probably going to take it back tomorrow, as i have had no word from Blade.

The game is juts not a worthwhile investment at £30 (the same price amazing games like Resident Evil 5), in my opinion it should be £15 max. It will probably get to that price in a few months or maybe nearer the sales, but to be honest i can wait....that is if i decide to buy it.

It's worse, because this is just about snooker (with a dash of Pool), and because of that Attention to Detail is key.

The reason i ask for in game music, is because i think the commentary is woeful, especially John Virgo. My average shot time is 15 seconds!!! Yet he is already insulting me, the worst being "i think he doesn't know the rules....you hit the white ball onto the colour, with that big long stick" what on earth is that all about, and why is he undermining my intelligence? There is no comedy value to that, especially as he uses the same phrases in every game.

Speaking of which, the commentary is exactly the same as World Championship snooker 2007 (which i do have on the xbox 360).

The graphics are exactly the same, PS2 but nicely polished...if anything i noticed more grain on the players in this version. The players do not look great, and for just a Snooker game they should be better, what else is there to focus on?

The custom players can only be Caucasian or Afro Caribbean, does that mean if you are not one of those you cannot play Snooker or are not allowed to create yourself? While i am on creating, it's little things like changing the Waistcoats colour on the back....erm i chose every colour there (more than 50 i think) it still stayed Purple and the colour only changed the shimmer which was a bit pants to be honest.

There is an invisible Chav Friend/Mentor/Agent talking to me....i don't want that guy talking to me, i don't even know the Chavs name, and i know what tournament i am entering you don't need to prep me for the game....because it is just take each game as it comes and score more than my opponent...WHEN does that ever change??? Also, isn't every game important? I try and win every game i can, so i don't need him to tell the stuff he is telling me.


They have created these amazing (sarcasm) build up moments, like a footballer walking into the tunnel...."ooooh theatrical".....WAIT....did i just see that guys finger go through the chalk, and the camera is clearly putting all the attention on the player chalking his cue? Please, that is basic stuff....what's worse, because the user did not change the profile of the hands, you have all the parameters and sizes when you was Rigging and Animating, i mean even i was taught at Uni to avoid stuff like this....do you not see this stuff when you make the game? Or your Q&A testers? Do you have any? OR is it this...."Oh it'll do" attitude that wreaks out the whole game....really half arsed.


This is why i can never justify paying £30 for this game...it's just the same as 2 years ago, except they have added you can walk around the table (and if your using Classic mode - it is exactly the same!!), and a load of Build up "your the up and coming snooker player...the one who is only afro Caribbean or Caucasian"


I will say though, once you are on the table it is great as always except the commentary, but that is not enough. As i said before, it is a just a Snooker (and pool) game, meaning that everything has to be spot on because it is gaming in it's most basic form, i have seen Flash games with more polish than this.

I wonder if you guys are slacking because you know there is no real competition?

It's 2009, and omitting features such as Trophy Support and the other Half arsed things i have mentioned, for me is not acceptable...and i'll carry on playing the PSP versions of the past and the 2007 version, because without the Walking around the table, they are essentially the same?

How many years did it take for you guys to add walking and a First Person view to an old game? Can only lol at that.

Also, knowing that this BladeInteractive user is around and didn't even bother to respond or acknowledge it out of the 10 (or so) threads on this section of the forum, really sucks on your part...and kind of sums up the whole game to be honest.

I have to say, there are at least 3 Asian character types to choose from in my game in addition to the others you mention. Maybe you just need to scroll down a bit further?

Mine's the PS3 version by the way.

lol, well if that's true then that is great...

...Yeah i just checked and your right, so i will retract everything i made about the Race/Faces, and i hold my hands up and admit i was in the wrong about that.

Not sure why it never showed up in the first place, (hope my Blu Ray isn't packing up) as when i was scanning though them they all said Caucasian or Afro Caribbean all 11 of them.

That aside, it still doesn't deter from me feeling that this isn't as good as it should be. As mentioned in my previous post. The Snooker on the table is fantastic, but everythign else isn't...i know this is only about how it plays on the table, but i feel everything else makes it look tacky and cheap, and not worthy of £30 in my opinion.


Apologies for causing a fuss on the Player Faces again, i was in the wrong...but at least i'll acknowledge it.

Would be nice to know if Blade acknowledges the other points i have risen, particulary In Game Music and Trophy support, as there is nothing they can do now, with the poor animating and the invisible chav., and annoying Commentary.

You should really consider Replacing Mr Virgo with someone like Clive Everton etc.

(1 & 2) Well it's all about choice, afterall. The point i am making is the features are available on the Xbox 360, yet it seems like it is shunned for the PS3.

I just prefer to have my own music over when i am playing, in this type of game. Just like how i did when it was WSC 2007 on the Xbox.

Because you put trophy on top of other important game elements like game-play, story, controls, etc.

That's not what i am saying.

Of course Trophies will always be a bonus to a game, they do not define it.

I say the game isn't good because, it is the same as the previous game (2007), only a few minor things have been added, which is the whole Club/Dressing Room and entrance thing, which i think isn't really good....and the new Control Scheme walk around the Table and pick your shots. Again i don't like that and i am using Classic mode.

SO taking all those things into consideration, this is pretty much exactly the same game, so paying £30 for it is a huge waste.

But, because i have the Xbox 360 version of the WSC 2007, that for me is better than this....it has the same controls i like, ad it also has In Game Music, the achievements are old, but at least it has those too.


But i am not saying the game is crap because of, lack of Trophies, i am saying it for the other reasons mentioned....Trophies will always be a bonus, i just find it really bad that the exact Same game on the Xbox has features that are not there on the PS3. Custom Music, and Trophies.
