Yeah it is but its only to be done when you're, barring miracles or a huge misjudgement, gauranteed to be on a red, i don't do it often! lol

Last qualifier in grand prix, 4 out of 4, played hendry and higgins too, won both 5 -1, stephen lee's quite good, doesn't miss much when i play him, 3 centuries and im 3-2 up, i'll outscore him or grind him down with sensible matchplay! lol

I'm thinking the knockouts will be same as always (best of 7, then 7, then 8, then 19) on accurate settings.

I've found that certain players (stephen lee pushed me to 7-5 twice, and mark williams, beat him 5-4 in a qualifier) always seem to play well against me for some reason! Anyone else find this?

As long as they give you a chance from time to time and don't run in a century at will as soon as you make a mistake like in previous versions...

Previous versions are damn hard, agreed, in my lat 04 season, ronnie got 8 centuries and 3 80+ breaks, potting ridiculous reds and clearing up! It's ok for Joe Davis to do that, he's ranked special, unlocked for winning worlds on 03 and 04, he's supposed to, a beat this from the game so to speak!

It's a good thing that the game now comes down to safety to stop the cpu scoring, like in real life, playinig without aiming aids would be impossible, shortening them would be good though!

Just qualified for Grand Prix knockouts, best of 9 vs. Stephen Hendry, last 16,
thinking the quarters will be best of 9, then best of 11 semis and best of 17 final, my only major gripe is that you can't have a fully accurate season like in 03 and 04, where the UK and Worlds were a marathon and a big challenge to win! As predicted Stephen Lee pushed me early, got 4 centuries and a 92 which could have been another, won 5-2, damn stephen lee, had to keep clearing up, he's one of a few players who don't miss much ever when he's on form!

Having said that, the format changed for the group stages of the Grand Prix, not fully accurate but at least it changed, maybe for UK and Worlds the format will change, would be great to play a full length marathon!

Here's hoping I can unlock Joe Davis for winning the worlds!

iv had the game nearly 2 weeks now (PS3 version) an as far as the game goes its great but im pretty useless at it an unable to qualify for most games. iv won pool championship twice but cant do well on snooker tournaments. any tips i should know of to help me win? also how do you unlock waist coats & cues?

You unlock waistcoats and cues by winning things basically, I posted a tips guide earlier in this thread which is quite complete, hope they help

I've qualified for knockout stages of Grand Prix, 5 wins, dropping 4 frames, then beat Hendry 5-1 with 4 centuries including a 147, then Joe Swail 7-2 with 6 centuries including a 147 and a 94 which could have been another, playing as I did in last 3 seasons on 07, first knockout is best of 9, quarters best of 13, semis best of 15 (playing Selby) and final will be best of 19 (prob Ronnie), so length of matches is normal on accurate from quarters onwards!

I am optimistic that certainly the worlds will be accurate in terms of length now, good to see the group stages in grand prix in!

I'll update on ranking points gained, I unlocked a cue for winning Shanghai Masters.

Speaking of waistcoats, do the top players have unique ones and sponsors like in real life, or do all the players wear the same waistcoat (boring)?

I think they all wear different, I'm going to beat Mark Selby, 6-0 up, its good to see that for winning you get double the points of being runner up, unlike in the last game! I'll take more notice and let you know for sure when I play Ronnie tomorrow! lol

Just beaten Ronnie 10-2, quit game first time round instead of turning my ps3 off at 7-3 up and had to start again, was not impressed!

Got breaks of 136, 68, 138, 130, 140, 50 clearance, 147, 100, 146 and 79, took my frustration out on him! lol

Won £68,000 prize money and 3,785 ranking points, won £280,250 overall, world ranked 33, 3 qualifiers for the northern ireland trophy and I'll be in top 32 (should be one less qualifier)

My nickname is calculon for some reason, unlocked usual trophy and location, plus media articles, now I'm in Northern Ireland Trophy qualifying

Everything's going well so far, I'll be somewhere near world number 1 at end of season, it was possible on wsc 2004 so it should be possible now!

I can only say well done your all obviously good but the fact you are winning every game easily and regularly getting high breaks & 147's doesnt say a lot for the game does it? I would rather take a few knocks/defeats and work my way up to the top slowly, surely more satisfying and realistic.

That's why I stopped playing - if you are any good (which breakman16 obviously is) then the game is simply too easy. Which for me is boring

Still I got my snooker plus goals and trophies to get, plus hopefully one day I can get a 147 online, I'm off to play Northern Ireland Trophy qualifiers now, hopefully I can knock em off quickish, don't like playing more than 1 qualifier! lol

I dream one day of getting a snooker plus max, 210.

That's why I like the Wii version better because of the motion control. That makes the positioning a bit more difficult because of it depends on how you execute the shot move.

Just got my first 147 against Joe Swail in the China Open semi.
It came far more easily than the previous (2007) game, in about 10 minutes...

Well done a monkey off your back, I've found mine are coming like buses now, got 9 or 10, that first one's the hardest for sure!

You mean points? U need to get to a final and get 8 centuries and a couple of 80s, its possible but you've got to have the knowledge and play all the right shots, I've got 1,200 2 or 3 times, almost 1,400 in 10 frames to 1 win is my top, probably I'll never beat it! Now ranked in top 32, 73 centuries (3 a match, just over) qualified for Northern Ireland Trophy, Selby first round is tough though!
