Another semi final, Ian McCulloch went 1-0 up, i won 7-1, 7 centuries in 7 frames, back to back 147s, 121, 110, 143, 112 (could have been 139) and a 140, knew i was building up to hitting overdrive, one of those days where I knew I was gonna get a good chance a frame for a century, my cannons were going very well, average break of 95.

Thought he was gonna push me, still waiting to play mark williams who was a nightmare to play on 07, he always pushed me! lol

Very pleased to get back to back maxes, got 10 now in 26 matches, mark allen won't stop me in semis and ronnie again in final, he never seems to get beat! lol I've noticed also dominic dale always pushes him for some reason, ronnie won 7-6 in quarters lol

Could someone explain why some days I find it really hard to play like that? earlier today everything was hard, cannons going wrong, slightly wrong angles sometimes, opponent messing table up, cramped table with balls everywhere early on, must admit the AI's weak tho, selby played terrible today against me, couldn't make 50 from decent chances

UK Championship next, would love the 2 big ones to be full length like in real life!

Hopefully I'll unlock something soon other than promotions and articles!

Whoa, back to back 147s - yikes.

I guess its more realistic than we thought - it forces you to have off days and good days! Perhaps though you do get into the 'zone' like in real sports.

Also I noticed today that the TV commentary in real life is almost as repetitive as the game

Is it just me or are the AI players most likely to mess up on the first red after your break? Seems that way. Then you're left with a half decent chance, but if you mess up again they will clear-up.
Anyway, I am having a prolonged off period since my big break the other day...

I can get in the zone sometimes, that's when I see the cannons to open the pack to stay on other reds, cannons go well, reds on cushions get developed to stay on other reds, i dont miss and I know I'm gonna make a century if the balls are decent, once on 07 i won 10-1, was 9-0 up and won last frame with a century to score 10 centuries in 10 frames, don't think I'll ever do that again! I wanted to do it too, at 8-0 up I was thinking if I could get 2 centuries I would be over the moon!

So yes its possible to zone out sometimes, the more knowledge you have though, the easier it is to cope with the off days when breaks are hard, I hate low scoring hence my username! lol

Plus the 16 red 155 clearance dream in competition was my reasoning, had one on 07 which I set up, was on for a 150 once on 04, got to last red and missed a tough pot, was gutted, SO rare to even be on a break of over 147!

UK Championship qualifying now, won 10-3 against Ronnie in Northern Ireland Trophy, usual unlocks, 3,100 points and £173,000 prize money, ranked 31 (one less qualifier now), nickname is Safe Cracker for some reason! lol

... you're only ranked 31 after all this?!? seems too low, unless you took a season break OTOH I don't understand the ranking system, come to think of it...

No I didn't this is my first season, you get 3,100 for winning a tournament, as far as I know you get half that for been runner up, you start at 52.

It's a lot quicker than the perious version, I went unbeaten for a season and made up 8,000 or so ranking points on the player ranked 16th, but only got to number 6 in the world when I was winning everything for 3 seasons.

At least on this game I'll be number 1 next season if only I can keep my standard up, my B game been good enough for 3 centuries and 2 80 plus breaks in a tournament standard best of 7 match.

Off to get to the last qualifier in UK Champs at least, should be inside the top 30 at end of the actual tournament.

Fantastic; he was to snooker what Murray Walker was to F1.

A little off-topic, but here are a couple of Murray's gems.

"We are now exactly in the same situation as we had at the start of the race, only exactly the opposite"

"The lead car is absolutely unique except for the one behind it which is identical"

"Just under 10 seconds for Nigel Mansell. Call it 9.5 seconds in round numbers"

I'm in UK Championship final, playing jamie cope who beat mark selby 7 6 in quarter final, great result for me!

Beat O'Sullivan 7 4, played a poor game for me, got 2 147s, my concentration was poor tho, apart from them missed all sorts, 3 of his 4 frames he got because I missed numerous chances in them, unlike me, but still, job done!

Beat Mark Allen 8 0 in semi final, more like me, 6 centuries, 3 147s, (my 6th of the tournament), 138, 121 and 103, 98 and 2 more, really focused today, jamie cope won't beat me, gonna try for 10 0 lol

I'll update on ranking points and prize money soon, I love clearing up, 115 centuries so far, scoring more than at this stage on 2007 version so must have learnt something at least! lol

This is good for you, but it tells the story from a game which is not in balance.

No it's not, the only thing they could do aside from not using a positional circle and lengthening the potting arrows so it could be played to an ok standard without the positional circle is to add analog or equavalent cueing.

However, with this they must be careful not to make it ridiculously sensitive otherwise it would be tough to pot anything, practise should enable you to pot most things while still meaning you have to concentrate on every shot, at the moment, I am taking advantage of the games flaws and trying to expand my breakbuilding knowledge, which is the best thing I can say about this game, it forces you to learn to play the game similar to a pro, at least in terms of the throught processes.

Got 5,100 ranking points, £235,250 prize money (£100,000 for the UK Championship and the rest for first round 147).

In the Masters now, the next tournament after that, providing I win it of course, will take me to the brink or possibly just inside the top 16, only one qualifier then, my nickname is Evader. I'm also gonna be very close to a million pounds won if I win Masters and get a max in first round match to get the bonus money.

I'll update on prize money after the tournament

Just beat Ronnie O'Sullivan, got the top corner blank screen bug, pressed overhead view at same time it came up, pure bad luck. Paused and turned the game off, reloaded and went to event progress, 0-0 it said, had to start from 0-0, was 9-3 up, how extremely annoying!

This time I hammered him, 10 centuries, 131, 111, 146, 147, 141, 106, 145, 147, 144, 137, average break 135, probably best I've ever played, totally zoned out, won 10-1, got 2,250 ranking points and £285,000 including £135,000 for 147 in first round, won £989,250 overall and am now ranked in the top 16, just in time for the china open qualifiers, of which I now have to play just one, very pleased!

From looking at the rankings I think I can get a top 4 finish by the end of the season, that would be great then I've got most of the stuff unlocked!

I'll update on ranking points and prize money for china open in due course!

                                highest break

My highest break so far is 145, was a little annoyed to say the least. I made a hash of position on the LAST red
