I don't have my copy of 2009 yet, but i can perhaps answer some questions above.

It is not possible to change the AI players.
The save problem was already an issue in the previous version. It is not possible to save during a match and resume it after quitting the game. Your progress will be lost.
The reason there is only one referee in the game could be a license issue. To put "real referees" in the game Blade must have a license agreement with their management i believe. Or otherwise they didn't thought about it. But it would be nice to have also the real referees in the game.

Blade I have a question about ranking system in game. Why your rankings change after every tournament and how is the rankings formed in the game? I think your points just raise after every tournament and it's quite impossible to reach 1'st place ranking.
Where is the 2-year-ranking and the provisional rankings?

• Removal of shot aids in online play

It is possible to remove the aiming aids for your own player when playing online and as soon as the other player takes a shot you are able to see exactly what aids they are using. Players should agree beforehand what aids are to be used in the game.

We know its possible to remove the aiming aids for your own player but in a ranking match against someone you dont know you can be sure the other person will be using position bubble, ( and unless i am blind I cannot see what aids they are using at all).
This creates the problem that as soon as someone gets a pot it becomes a clearance / match winning break because there is NO SKILL required.

Please patch the online so the position bubble is disabled in Ranked Online matches at the very least. I am no programmer but surely its not hard to do?
(If match = ranked; Postion Bubble = 0) something like that

I played a player match last night with 'Mexicola' from these forums, we agreed no position bubble and therefore had a great game as we both visited the table 3 - 4 times a frame because we ran out of postion - rather than sitting there watching the opponent clear up it actually made the experience much more enjoyable. Please patch it

could not agree more with you Jonesy. Would make the game so much more interesting and enjoyable, But sadly i don't think this is going to happen.

Cant really see the point in playing online the way this game is at the mo.
Think its going to be like the last version Barron lobby's after a couple of weeks.

Blade posted information that it is possible to tell if your opponent online is using aiming aids. However, this does not appear to be true. We have played against players online today (three frames worked for the first time!) and they both admitted to using aiming aids but it doesn not show this when they take their shot. I hope Blade can explain why this is contrary to the information they posted. We've emailed them today foir a reply!

Agree with both prevous posts! Aiming aids need to be off for ranked games....

Finally, the game disconnected again after working fine for three frames but only at the point I went to the playstation friends screen mid game on two successive games (each time when I pulled up the PS screen)...

Well Folks, I wrote a letter to the 'Support' department of Blade ,(methinks they will be very busy people) about the absence of online play (PC) on 09
they have sent me a response that I like to share with you.
I'm afraid that this year, after conducting extensive market research we
decided not to include online support in this years version on PC.
Play.com did list the game as being for online play, something we have
rectified. I apologise for any dissapointment.

I have to wonder who conducted their market research, because whoever did must have polled the natives in the Amazonian jungle or someone who knows nothing about the existance of the internet. In any event, they received money from Blade on false pretences. It does not look as though anyones going to be getting any patches to rectify a half baked game from this lot. I don't doubt Blade will be taking advantage of the forthcoming World Professional Snooker Championships to trumpet their wares (as they did last year) Potential customers, be warned.

Glad other people have noticed that you cant see what aids the opponent is using - I thought I was going mad in light of Blades information posted that you can !

However it is quite easy to tell because the "pin point" accuracy with the cue ball postion on EVERY shot is a slight giveaway... lol

I consider myself half decent when playing without the positional bubble - right up to the point I tend to snooker myself

oh yeah - sorry to ramble on - without the positional bubble you can actually snooker your opponent and they cant just get out of the snooker & roll the cue ball up to the reds with measured accuracy............ what the hell - just scrap the positional bubble Blade!

I agree was fun (apart from losing again) i tried the position bubble thing today for first time and it requires no skill sadly, i just wish they had different difficulties of aiming aids, instead of its either off or on, that makes its a very very steep learning curve that will put alot of people off

The Fact that blade don't have online play in this game is doing my head in, as we all know it was said on the wscreal com that online play is available but this "Market Research" rubbish where did this take place exactly? Surely a patch can sort this out?

A couple of folks have noted that when your in the dressing room and you want to edit the appearance of your player, e.g hair color is slow to change appearance?

Now yesterday I had a practice in the Pool area there is an error somewhere, when you "pot" the ball into certain pockets you don't hear the ball "drop" you hear the snooker "rail sound" bad coding there who ever is to blame.

I was playing just now and then the AI is playing the Ref should be picking the balls up for him instead hes just standing there whats gone wrong there?

You have to wonder if the people doing the testing were deaf ,dumb and blind

You also have to wonder if a patch doesn't give an extra security.
You often see games get immediately patched after release in which case only legal games can be patched...
So it might be a company-policy against piracy.
