There isn't a resume option, but if you reload your profile and click next match, it reloads at your previous state. At least that's what it did when I tested it today.

Edit: What exactly is the problem with the saved games? I don't want to have to trawl the whole thread.

    • Basically when in game during a long match you CANNOT save. If you select "quit" then go back to main menu, when you restart you have to restart match from beginning.

You CAN simply turn off the xbox/ps3 (not sure how this works with PC) and when you turn back on you can then continue your match at its current state. However, it is pretty poor that you cannot "quit and save" and have to literally turn off the console to leave the match at its current score.

Why Blade didn't include a quit and save option is beyond me.

      • You don't have to turn the console off on the 360 version. Just exit to the dashboard and restart the game. At least the load times have been improved over last version (oh yes that's because there are less features! ) and you can be back in the match within less than a minute or so.

        • This is true Rogwilco, but I do think that Blade should have incorporated a "quit and save" as what other game do you have to literally exit to dashboard to save a game in progress rather than have to restart.

It isn't really a problem, except if you select the "quit" option without thinking. Lets be fair here though, you should be able to quit a match in progress and it save your current progress in that match rather than making you start the match from scratch. This understandably confuses many people and is a rather silly way to implement a quit option.

Yes I agree. To me, quit means give up or cancel. There should be a SAVE & EXIT option like other games. Less frequent gamers would then know what the hell it meant.

Off topic but this all sounds similar to the save fiasco that was Dead Rising on the 360.

I don't think you can save during a frame on PC, but I've found that if you quit after a frame, it'll autosave and when you next click 'next match', you'll be returned to that game's saved state. I agree though, there should be an actual 'save and exit' button. Especially if you're someone who likes to have a backup of a save, since autosaves can get corrupted, in which case you're stuffed.

My bog standard reply is: WSC 2005 had a manual save option after every frame and you could quit the game and resume match without any fuss at all

Why this simple feature was removed for an autosave feature in 07/09 that doesn't work is yet another mystery

This doesn't work for me. I wait until the very start of a frame. (When the "aotosave" sequence has finished) then I have exited to dashboard, turned Xbox off still nothing, starts from scratch. Blade have said they will get back to me tomorrow regarding this farce!!!!!!!!

                      • Well as far as the Save Game Feture or lack of it on the PC at least I seem to have made a bit of progress. If you exit the match after the start of a frame and then completely quit the game, after loading everything back up if you immediately play next match the game resumes from where you left off.

However should you forget to go to next match and fiddle with your profile or do anything which autosaves before going to next match you lose the lot!!!!

Also if the game does resume the stats only show your stats for that session and not what happened before you resumed?!!!???!!

When ref replaces balls no reflections etc show on the ball until after score updates which looks a bit strange????

Also seen as Im bald and would like a bald player can we fix the wig issues floating around the screen???!!

Can I ask Blade to be on the system test team for WSCReal 2010 these seem simple bugs which should of been picked up on before release

                          Hi Aaron

First off sorry that your experience with WSC Real 09 wasn't what you expected.

The issue with the save is the way that our games have been designed for some while now.

HOWEVER I do take your point if your hold down Alt and press F4 in the PC version the game will autosave at any point in the championship.

Similarly if you have the PS3 or X360 versions resetting the console will do the same thing.

I hope that this at least will prevent a few sleepless nights

                          Cheers

                          Pete

This is the reponse I got from telling of my save problems, I replied with the fact mine won't save AT ALL even from doing some of the things suggested on here. By the tone of his email they aren't going to do F-All about it. In his last line he know he has produced a product that is a pile of ****. All they have to do is release a patch, how ignorant and lazy, They think with this level of ineptitude people are actually going to bother with the next version. I am going to talk to them about refunds. I shall let you know what responses I get

                          • Hi Pete

I sent another email yesterday and one this morning. I have come to the conclusion I want a refund. Please let me know how I go about this? Don't say take it back to the store as they won't accept is as it has been opened. The thing is, if Blade put their hands up and said, "Whoah, sorry our mistake. We'll get a patch for that" everyone would give you a second chance. All you have to do is look at all the snooker forums and see No One is going to buy the 2010 version due to your lack of grasping basic programming, Who in there right mind omits a Save and Quit button. I can only think that this game wasn't tested in a realistic environment, where people have to go to work therefore Save games halfway through.

                            Sorry just doesn't cut this.

£32.71 from Asda is money that I can't afford to waste, unless a patch is released then that is money down the drain.

This is marketed as a Simulation, it's not. Please advise on how I can gain a refund.

                            Thanks

                            Aaron

                            • They said "This is the way it is [designed]" ????

And to be able to save the game, the user must RESET (as of reboot) the console ???

Which is now an official way to save the game!

Man ... this is worth to be a headline news on every major game sites!

" ... to save some lines of source code, we (Blade) decided to ask the user to reset/reboot the game console/pc to save the game ..."

                              I am mad ... surprised ... gutted ... #*$&#*$&#*

In all my time I think this is the first time I have seen a company advise you to reset your console so you can save the game properly

Absolutely shocking - the annoying thing is in 04/05 they had the save feature working fine
