  • Taking Back / Getting Money Back...Need Some Help

As title says, i got the game the day it came out and now iv just had enough of it, personally i think its beyond shocking that they released this, Iv just played Jimmy Whites Snooker from 2001 and its so much better then this, i just bought my copy for a few £ and will be playing that.

My question is what are my rights for refund etc? am i entitled to one? What should i do.

If you have opened the game then you would not be able to get a refund, it is the same when purchasing CD's if you take it out of the packaging then you could of copied it so no refund. Go and exchange it would probably be your best option.

Normally I would agree with that but it says "refined online play to play against other snooker-heads from around the globe" on the back of the box and it has the network play sign (xbox 360 and ps3) so technically because the online system doesn't work as it says on the box you are perfectly entitled to a refund, so ring blade and demand a refund, they can't say no. But if you have the pc version then you've got no chance of a refund.

Yeah but I had the same problem with Atari when Test Drive Unlimited was released, they advertised on the case that you could take puctures in the game and upload them to the TDU server to download to your PC and that feature never worked and everybody who tried to get a refund because of that didn't get one.

Thanks for the replys, seems taking it back to Game for a refund is out, ill give Blade a ring Tuesday, im sorry but on the box it says a 'Snooker and Pool Simulation' and im sorry but its far from a simulation.

Plus if i take it back to swap itsprob not even worth half what i paid so thats more money i cant afford to swap it for something good

Well Karl i do play it and i enjoy it so to be honest i think you should at least give it a try, yes it has issues but it's kept me entertained and it will be getting played a lot when the worlds start on saturday. I really think you should make a decision after trying it.

Too late then - cannot get refund if you have opened the game. Depends what bothers you in a game really. If things people have highlighted here would be deal breakers then I wouldn't bother. If issues raised don't bother you then obviously it's worth a look

I dont think its something you can vote on, you might enjoy it, i for one (and lots of others) think its a badly made, poor attempt at a snooker game with even the most basic faults in it.

I think Blade wont fix anything.

                    My question:

Everytime i play a quick match 9ball, i get a table with a red cloth, red wood and red carpet, im struggling to see the balls.

                    Answer from Blade:

We're sorry you don't like the red table in the practice room, however you can play Pool in versus mode in any unlocked location instead

Im sorry but thats crap, its not an answer its blaming the gamer who has bought there game

Little tip: carefully open it at the bottom where the plastic is folded and pull it out, then you can put it back in and glue the bottom, nobody knows any different

All depends what you want from the game Karl, For online play its just not worth bothering with. Far to easy no skill needed what so ever.

Single player is ok but not great and does get very tiresome playing the AI.
These days a game a game lives or dies with the on line community and sadly
                        i can see this dieing.

Generally I've never had problems returning opened console games, not in the UK or in Sweden where I am currently living. Just be honest, don't claim to have received 2 copies as birthday presents (unless you can borrow a friends copy, then that works well ).

PC is nowadays much harder, some will exchange however.

If a feature advertised on the box isn't working or even worse not included in the game, then a refund due to the Sales of Goods Act would be doable.

You might get an exchange though, depending on where you bought it. HMV accept PC returns for exchange, but not refund.

I nearly always try games out for a day or so before buying them either 360 or pc. I tried both 360 and pc with this game and didnt buy any because the 360 version was too similar to 2007 and the pc version was completely shocking.
