I was thinking other perspective ...

How much do you think this game userbase? How many WSC 2007 has sold so far? Anyone know?

Because, if the number is significant, let say several hundred thousand copies or even 1 or so million .... probably our voices are not significant enough.

We know how Snooker plays, the physics, the cushion sound, rules, etc.

We are just a small number of people ...

How many those who bought this game know who the hell is Ronny O'Sullivan?

Most other people bought this game and "think" this must be the way it is.

Worse that professional GAME REVIEWERs dont play Snooker and they just give good score based on graphics, gameplay, etc. ... but not physics and how easy this game is.

I am not talking about bugs like that stupid save game feature.

But things like ball physics, sounds, table speed, rules ... which to be honest, I dont know that this game (most probably) got it wrong in the first place. I never paid attention to this because it "looks" ok. I never tested ball speed, table speed, nor carefully hear the sound. I play snooker in real live and watch almost every major snooker tournaments in BBC. But yet, I cannot spot any flaw on this area before I read some posts from this forum.

I always think probably each snooker table is different, this table has faster speed than that. Each player is different, one has more cue power than others so he can hit hard the cue ball. There are many factors. Probably Blade put "bad" tables in this game

Like aim aids, length of arrow, probably most of other non-snooker-fan will not see it as problems, they are enjoyable. A lot of people like to play easy game.

Oh well, it always sucks for anything that has no competitor ....

Are you sure you've watched live snooker? If so, then the sound of the cushions and the dead way the balls come off the cushions in WSC Real 09 would leap out and bite you! There is no excuse for the rebound of the cushions: even my club's tables are better that this, even my own 6ft table's cushions are better.

Play a break off shot on a full size table. Notice how little power you actually have to use to get the ball back to the baulk area! Now play the same thing in WSC Real 09, or any other from the series, and you have to use significant power. I agree with what a lot of other people have said: this game would benefit massively from mouse controlled cueing and of course, the Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker aiming system.

    Still, it's fun.

well, although i ain't played the pc, ps3 or xbox360 versions, i agree with how people may feel.
the problem is that i can't help feeling that no matter how good or close they ever get to the real thing, it will never be to everyones satisfaction, especially with a joypad. like you said about the fact of hitting a ball in real life requires less, but you could argue that even it were perfect, how can pressing a button to hit a ball make it anymore realistic?.
you are spot on at the end of your post regarding a mouse cue, etc, as i feel that actually getting more involved in a game is the key.
i have a pc, xbox and wii and although the wii losses the graphics battle, it was my number 1 choice for being the most interactive. sitting, standing and taking an actual cue action shot is just so much more enjoyable than sitting through a whole match on your back side, adjusting and pressing buttons, without the need to stand up once.

the wii is not the greatest thing ever, but it brings these type of games closer to reality. i suppose i could moan at a few things, but overall, it's given me the most challenge and been addictive for months in 1 player mode, without the need for an online mode that it never had anyway.

i have adapted to the controls, whether the ball is slower or bounce is out, as with the wii motion sensor you find that hitting a ball actually travels further or shorter than you actually wanted it. this makes the wii version better i feel as half the battle is controlling the power of your shot and not what the animated character is doing, etc. using a joypad means that you can get the right power you require, giving you more time to notice all the other niggles. like i said the wii motions will be your biggest battle and most times thanking the fact that the ball didn't travel as far as it could have.

all the best with what you decide, but if you do get the chance to try a friends wii wsc 08, give it a go and you will see half the battle regarding adjusting to the new control system.

if you do get the chance to play longer, watch out for ronnie who?
        ha,ha!!

I would love it if there was a WiiCue for PC, just imagine actually being able to take the shot yourself, and add our graphics as well! Mouse control would be a fine substitute though, as I said before, snooker is a very tactile game. Pressing a few buttons just doesn't cut it. I bet Blade could easily patch it in if they wanted to, but they can't be bothered with gameplay improvements. At least not in patches...
