Shik1, those terms are moderate qualifications. I play Pro Evolution Soccer ( PES ) and the critisism Konami got for their last game was a multiple in severeness than what you read here. On the internet there are always people who express themselves more aggressive than in real life and Blade knows that too.
I wonder if you did read my earlier post ( post # 2 in this topic ). I think that is a good answer on your concerns.

I must say that I'm wondering if Shik1 has got a different game to the rest of us,or he was given it so didn't actually pay money for it. Either way you do have to wonder what planet he lives on. I have read almost all the opinions people have written that he doesn't like. I can't think of any that I seriously disagree. Perhaps Shik1 one can explain what he thinks is so good about 09.
As for his point about the missing online play not being Blade's fault, haven't the previous versions on the pc had it. Why have it on the consoles and NOT on the p.c. The price is the same.

i'm not saying it's sooo good.. i'm, saying it's bad to insult the developers and then expect them to sort stuff out for us... the point i made about online play for PC was.. it was advertised on play.com as being online then people found out it was'nt and blamed blade when in actual fact play.com advertised it wrongly...

            Great post...

Notice the part of the forum you are in. 'The virtual world'. In fact Blades choice of place for their official forum.

Yes I have friends that I can (questionable with this version of the game ) play Snooker online with, but no unfortunately I am not good enough to play against the likes of Ronnie or Selby in real life. I'm glad you are though. Now shouldn't you be getting on with your awesome life?

I placed a preorder for this game shortly after I heard about it based on the previous version and the misguided hope (as it now seems) hope that 08 or 09 as it eventually turned into after all repeated delays. The previous versions had online play on the pc. The excuse I received from Blade was that it was a decision made as a result of 'market research'. Ok, then why include online on the consoles? I would have more respect for Blade if one of their 'senior' representatives could take the time to explain what went wrong, and, more importantly, what they are going to do about it. Are they going to sit on the money they've received so far for what the vast majority on this forum think is a sub standard piece of work.

The way I see the situation is that there are both positives and negatives with this latest version of the game (and I own every version from 2002 onwards so can make a fairly informed view).

                Pros:

*graphically far superior to 2007 which looked awful even in hi res on xbox 360.
*real mode helps greatly with knowing which balls are pottable. In earlier versions it was hard to tell whether object balls were blocked from pockets.
                *better stats

                Cons:

*Real has downsides as you cannot tilt the view once you have aimed like you can in classic view.
*The strange lack of a save during match option (although this can be achieved by simply turning off console.
                *Ball physics/cushion rebound.
*Lack of full length matches (which were in earlier versions 2004 and 2005).

It is an okay game with some improvements but some considerable flaws and Blade should issue patches for improvements and not hold the view that they will only improve in future versions. They are a small development team but this does not excuse not looking after their fanbase.

I will play this game a lot and enjoy it for what it is, but personally, despite being a Blade "fan" for many years, I do think they have a responsibility to patch more than just the online problems.

I bet another £29.99 that yes they are.

Really? I'm convinced that the player models haven't changed. I played John Higgins the other day and he still has that 'I'm on acid' look. Check out his eyes and hair. They are as wrong as they were in 2007. also what are you're thoughts on the animations.

The player model standing up at the end of a game with his hand clasped around thin air (previously holding the cue) whilst resting on his groin gives me a giggle every time. Thanks Blade for at least making me laugh.

It's interesting to see the Play.com have now lowered their price on 09 to £19.99 less than 2weeks after the games release. They know,it seems, they have a 'lemon' on their hand. If they lower the price anymore It may be worth the price.

I'm referring more to the table and balls. On my Sony Bravia 32" 2007 colours look terrible. I can't tell the difference between the pink and brown ball on my hi def tv.

On 2009 the colours are crystal clear and sharp. Was referring more to the quality of image rather than graphic AI improvements. Hope that clarifies.

Do you mean 'save during frame'? I quit the match after a frame, quit the game, reloaded it, chose 'next match' and was returned to the match I'd just left at the correct score.

Oh hold on, are you talking about the console version, sorry I meant PC.

Edit: Instead of hitting the c/b centrally, hit it just above centre. This adds a little bit to the cushion rebound and speed over the table. I know, not ideal but it's better than nothing.

That Crocker guy should be called 'Chris Cracked'. He is a nutcase! Either that, or he's a desperate actor trying to make a name for himself. Or maybe he's both...

We shouldnt have to insult the devolpers, they shouldnt have to sort anything out. It should of been right first time round but it wasnt, people have a right to be angry and ****ed.

As far as im concerned the game is shocking and no fun what so ever, The xbox version might aswell have no online as the online community is virtually non existent
