    Freedom Of Movement

One of the issues I have with the game is that although you can move around the table when not in shot mode, the freedom of movement is limited to circling around a central point on the table instead of entirely free. I want to be able to zoom in and out and see the table from every angle - I mean it would even be cool if you could see slightly underneath it where the extension cues are situated!

This freedom of movement was demonstrated quite well in Virtual Pool 3, which is still my favourite pool/snooker game.

Yeps. 'Walk mode' is a goddam joke: all you can do is spin on the spot, as you said. Also, why can you get that low behind the shot in walk mode, but not shot mode!

      Blade. Sort. It. Out. (!)

Edit: Also, what happened to that cool viewpoint from right in the pocket?

It would also be pretty cool if they had competitive bar billiards, nine ball and straight pool. In WSC 09, these were only in exhibition-type format where you could not play against the AI, only yourself! I think thats pretty bad considering the popularity of 9 ball for instance. I happen to really like bar billiards too, that's one heck of a skillful game!

Well, I don't own any of the next gen consoles, so I have to go without for the forseeable future, but what I've never understood is why the programmers can't get the TV coverage-style views right. Well, that's not strictly true, the views themselves are quite good (the standard, elongated overhead view, and the two floor camera views that pick up the black pocket corner action) - but what Blade have failed to get right so far, is the editing and mixing between these images.

When they make the 2010 edition, they ought to get some people watching and researching the BBC coverage to see how the camera mixing and editing is done (they obviously never have for the past games) - it's quite simple really. Use the elongated overhead for the majority of the action, then when a player is about to play a shot, switch to the camera picking up the pocket they're potting into to. When the ball drops into the pocket, switch immediatley back to the elongated overhead camera so that we can see what the balls are doing. That's pretty much it.

My wish - simple, they don't issue a PC version unless the game is taken over by another company.

Spot on - seems so simple reading it in black and white, but in the last few releases Blade just couldn't manage it

                2. Tournament structure. The tournaments must be like in real. Not playing 'best of 7' in the 1/8 final of Shanghai for example. Must have all the tournaments giving real ranking points and with real structure (not group phase for the Gradn Prix)

                3. Ability to see what are good and bad points of other player's style of play. I'll give example from WSC 2003:

                4. Improved AI players. They pot the balls from extremely difficult positions and pot balls tight on the cushions. This makes the safety exchange shorter and the frames are short and without long and interesting safety/snookers play. If the AI do what the real snooker players do (for example Hamilton - Carter in Welsh Open who were exchanging safety shots for 30 minutes). If frames in WSC are like this we will be more entertaining.
Because it's not interesting now just to play 2-3 shots in the start of the frame, the one of the players pot ball and the frame is particulaty over.
Agreed 100%! Safety battles (when they happen), are one of the best things about the game.

Yeps. Also, I'd like an option to play the entire match from your viewpoint, including when you're sitting in your chair. There could be a picture in picture window so you can get a better view of the table.

Could I also add another improvement?

Commentary! Commentary should be informative, entertaining and most importantly, build up tension (Ted Lowe was the absolute master at that). All WSC 09's commentary does is: insult the player, blither on about history a million times a frame and when it is talking about the actual snooker, state the bloody obvious!

For example, when you come to the last frame, all it says is 'the final frame, then'. What's wrong with 'and so we come to the last frame of this epic battle' (if it warrants that tag and wasn't a 10-0 whitewash)? And have several variations on the theme, so the same line isn't trotted out at the final frame of every match. Or if there was an amazing comeback by a player from 5-0 down or something, they could reflect back on that! We never hear '34 points behind, and there's 35 points on the table. He needs blacks with all the last reds and all the colours', or things like that. Tension, people! Snooker commentary is dripping with it (even without Ted Lowe).

No spoilers please, but I bet the commentary isn't all that cop even when closing in on a 147, or the World Title itself.

Edit: Obviously, there are other more important improvements, but I listed them in the first post of the thread.

I'd like to see 2 player off line play so you can play some frames with a friend on the same PS3 with 2 controllers.

I'd like to be able to play reliably online. Not had an online game yet that didn't crash.
