  • The long and short

Well having played it for a week on PS3 now (not online yet - waiting for fix) I can give my opinion. Its not quite as bad as some make out but it is flawed, however it does look better. It needs:

    1. A tilt option in the real mode, otherwise you just go back to classic as you can be surer of your pot.

    2. Bring back the option for the player to determine how easy/hard the aiming aid is.

    3. Bring back the option to have the 'white' arrows show where the white is going i.e. 3 arrows back etc. Keep the position aid in there but at least give the player the option to have an alternative rather than that or nothing.

    4. The option to save mid game (this should be fixed as a patch asap as it is, to be honest unforgiveable that its not in there and telling people to switch off is crap).

A lot of people talk about the 2005 version on here, it was easily the best snooker sim I have ever played and my points 2 & 3 here stem from that. However there was a hefty learning curve (particularly controlling the white ball / safety) which put a lot of people off and I think Blade in their defense have tried to address. Sadly though anyone who has played the 05 version will find this one a bit of a breeze at times.

You have hit the nail on the head. I consider myself a good player at 05 on expert aiming aid, consequently I find 09 the easiest Snooker game I have ever played with the long aiming arrows. With aiming aids turned off, it's the hardest snooker game I have ever played.

Same here...2009 is just too easy.
We need shorter arrows and top-down view disabled options !

That would stop us from taking on stupid shots that we'd never take in real life, but it is only worthwhile if it also stops the AI from doing it as well. Otherwise, that's yet another advantage that the AI would have.
