How do you nominate a ball in pool mode?

You don't nominate a ball you just nominate the pocket it is going in.

If your playing a plant you have to nominate the ball. On the xbox you press the back button then choose the ball.

see playing real 8ball pool, your opponent pots the white and gives you 2 shots on the black, and the black is safe on the bottom cushion. do u have to nominate a pocket on your first shot, if you are just trying to set the black up for your second shot?
