  • Pool cue repair suggestion.

Hi, I am looking for someone who can offer some advice to where I can take / send my cue to be repaired due to being damaged. I live in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The problem is the brass plates at the joint has snapped within the top part of the cue, leaving both the male and female plate on the bottom half of the cue. I would show pictures by apparently I am not authorised to upload.

    Thanks in advance.

I have used Andy Travis several times in the past, he is up in Sheffield area.
Andy used to be on TSF a lot but mostly on Facebook now.
I have used him for repairs, refurbs, and new cues, always been fast, efficient and quality work for a reasonable price

as a newbie the attachment function is limited but you can use any image sharing site, see an exampke below

How to add images to your TSF posts
You can use a free image-sharing site such as ImgBB, without registering (you can register for free), to upload your images, you may have to do the “not a robot” checks quickly. There are other image sharing sites as well.
      ImgBB.com
      Click on "Start Uploading"
Browse to the file and select it, click Open
Auto delete image - leave as "Don't autodelete".
      Click "Upload".
Change "Embed Codes" to "BBCode full linked".
Hover over the code in the box, a "COPY" will appear, click this.
Go to your TSF post and paste.
You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.

          Hi Dean

Thanks for your response. I was reading the forums earlier today and noticed a few recommend Andy, thank goodness you had a link to a thread with his details, as you can imagine, just going a search via facebook, it's like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.

          Regards

          Jason

PS, I said hi on your behalf also.

              Here you go my friend...

Apparently backing my ass onto what I believed to be a seat turned out to be a cue so... :/

I'll let you know how it all goes.

              Cheers

                ouch!
I have seen joints coming away from the wood and staying together but not seen the metal screw breaking like that!
                Hope Andy can help.

Oh trust me, it has baffled me how it has managed to break at that point, almost like it was previously repaired before I came into ownership. It is an odd one.

Fingers crossed it can be salvaged.
