What an absolute belter! Though, i still think the Part - Taylor match had a higher standard.

I do, The Cockney Rebel came just up when i was typing the thread and i liked it. For comparison you are right. Before I always ranked Bristow as the greatest till Taylor came. Van Barneveld is somewhere in between. I heard rumours there is a press conference just before The Lakeside will start. More split ups, players changing to the PDC

What a humdinger, I was beside myself!! The best final since Taylor versus Mike Gregory in 1992, which also went to a sudden death final leg.
It must really annoy Taylor, everyone saying that he is the best player in the world ever and as soon as Barney defects, Barney starts beating him!

Great great final. I thought Barney had blown it when he missed 3 attempts at double top to win the title. The key moment was in the sudden death leg when BArney matched Taylor's 180 and got to a finish first.

Fair play to the big Dutchman - I didn't think he was good enought to beat Taylor but now I'm eating humble pie.

If only I entered the snooker prediction contest Paul. I have chosen not to enter said tournament as the only thing I have learnt over the years from trying to predict sport is that it is wholly unpredictable!!!

Great match. Taylor is such a competitor, he never knows when he's beat and thrives under pressure. Well done Barney though.
