Is that Alphand in the Rally Dakar???

Snooker again interrupted for this §$%& rally! But I just noticed a somewhat familiar face and was wondering if I was right. Is this Luc Alphand in the Rally Dakar? The same Luc Alphand who won numerous ski races, esp. downhills? Luc Alphand the world no. 1 in (I think) 1997, winner of the total World Cup and downhill World Cup? Luc Alphand the nightmare of Austrians?

I didn't know he became a rally driver after he quit skiing.

A colleague of mine is taking part in the truck category of the rally, so you don't have to be a rally driver to take part as long as you have the money or sponsorship.

Alphand won the Dakar last year, i think, so it's more than just taking part because he has the money it seems to be not uncommon to switch from another sport to the dakar, a snowboard champion who is taking part this year, comes to my mind right now, but there are more i think. i always liked alphand, because he beat the austrians (i am completely unpatriotic )
i actually enjoy watching the dakar programm on eurosport. of course, the timing is bad, but i think it's quite interesting and the landscape is great
