Hehehe a_g .... that is a very good picture.

It does look, though, that it's showing potting a black into a corner pocket, when there's a much easier pot on to the middle! Any reason for going for the corner? Perhaps just to excite the watching fans?

PS it does show the black lines around the table on my screen (maybe you edited it again?) - do those pockets conform to regulation templates?

Well, obviously I just restricted the picture to the most basic features. Of course there would be a reason why he can't pot the ball into the middle pocket but it's the sort of shot I was talking about, not the situation.

As for the pockets, they conform to the technical limits and my very own personal limitations of know-how as far as f*cking Paint is concerned.

Kat is right bout one thing ... i was lucky in the penultimate frame..otherwise it should have been a draw .
True , i potted the black before its time in the first frame...errr wrong angle , but that was only Kat's fault , she snookered me ...

I'm trying to think why I wrote frame 7 but I don't seem to find the answer. What I meant was frame 5 - the penultimate frame.

Well, I can't really describe with words what Ranens are and my drawing on computers is nowhere as good as the Statman's. But I'm happy to demonstrate how to fail in these sort of shots.

edit: I tried to sketch what I mean but it turned out rather pathetic! Well, Its RaNeN Vs Davis!!
I am honoured to play Mr.Davis.

1st game:
Davis play very well, 1 Missed chance by me and Davis grabs it to clear up.

2nd game:
Davis looks all set to win unfortunately fouls, RaNeN manages to clear up!

3rd Game:
Scores tied at 1-1, Nobody wants to give a chance! Safety, Safety and more Safety. RaNeN gets a lil chance, pots 1 ball, again safety!
Davis plays a great safety, RaNeN tries a difficult pot, Everythings wide open for Davis to clear up. Davis misses! RaNeN gets a chance, pots one tries to open up the pack....self safety.....Davis plays safe...omg! Davis on, pots one, plays safe. RaNeN tries for a safety gives an open shot to Davis, Davis opts for a safety RaNen acts smart, tries to Snooker Davis, fails, Ball in hand to Davis. Davis plays safe . RaNen gets an opening clears up until the black...the damn black is safe. RaNeN fouls, Davis goes for it, loses position...plays safe! RaNeN has had enough of safties..plays a freakin double, WINS!

4th Game:
Davis starts his safties early! Gets a pot after the brak , does not pot, plays safety instead RaNeN pots 4 balls, runs out of position! Tries a snooker, fouls, Ball in hand for Davis. Davis pots a few, does something silly, RaNeN has it easy to pot the last 2 .....misses an easy pot, back to Davis, plays safe, RaNeN as usual fouls! Davis plays another safety, guess who fouls again??? Davis, again tries a pot, misses, RaNeNs got a difficult one here, pots the last 2 balls, screws up on the black! Davis has a hiccup! hands it on a golden plate to RaNeN. RaNeN wins!

5th Game:
Davis to break, breaks. RaNeN pots 2 balls, thinks he playing well....tries a stupid shot and misses! Open 'em all up for Davis. Davis for the 100th time plays a safety even though he has the worlds easiest pot!( Just like Kats picaso). RaNeN pots a few and plays safe, Davis fouls, RaNeN pots plays a dumb shot on the last ball! Davis in, clearance on! Davis again plays safety even though only a poof would pot the ball! RaNeN snookered plays a hard shot with lots of left side spin, manages to pot! Balck easy, in it goes! RaNeN wins!

6th game:
RaNeN to break.
RaNeN breaks, none go in! Davis pots 2, plays safe. RaNeN pots 1 plays safe. Davis plays safe, RaNeN tries a silly shot , no fear of losing now! hehe RaNeN plays a banana! Davis comments 'even Jimmy wouldnt dream of that'! RaNeN plays safe, Davis plays safe, RaNeN misses! Davis plays safe, RaNeN fouls, Davis in with a tough chance but can clear....guess what?? Safety!!! RaNeN makes it easier now! Davis frees a pocket, plays safe! Davis snookers RaNeN, RaNeN manages to touch a ball of his. Davis plays safe.....RaNeN tries a double....misses. Davis snookers RaNeN, RaNen manages to get out , easy for Davis, pots one and again safety! RaNeN pots an unexpected one, On the black tries a silly double into the corner pocket, misses ofcourse! Davis has it as easy as it can get! Davis clears up!!! Davis Wins!!! OMG! his finger slipped....foul! RaNeN does not believe this! RaNeN grabs the chance he gets and wins

Final Score RaNeN 5-1 Davis.

I dont really think anybody would read this. I just typed all this in while playing!

Yeah, it was looking good. I still don't know what I did to foul?! Did I get confused over which ball was mine? Looked like a great opportunity to clear but the computer didn't like it!

3rd Game:
....RaNeN has had enough of safties..plays a freakin double, WINS!

Got to give credit where due... that was a really great double to win the frame! Well played, indeed!

4th Game:

Ranen, the shot is indeed named after you. When I first played you, you were playing this shot (the one in the picture) so confidently. If I remember correctly, you even played a positional shot to leave yourself on a "Ranen" . I find that ball amazing, esp. when the angle is even thinner than in the drawing above. And the way you master this shot, I felt it should bear your name... at least for our purpose here. Ellena plays that shot pretty well too, so you might watch out. One day, she might challenge you to it .

As for the pic, of course in THAT situation you wouldn't play a "Ranen" but pot the ball in the middle pocket. However, I just described the KIND of shot, not the precise situation in which I encountered it.

I just played chasmmi,

I got off to a good start and won the first 2 frames, chasmmi then played real well the next 3 frames and won them quite comfortably to lead 3-2

The final frame i needed to win it for a draw, but chassmi potted the black in the corner pocket.. The game then said i had won, as chassmi hadnt named his pocket. I realized this was an error on chassmi,s part, but it was obvious to me which pocket he was trying for, so the end result

I agree. In a league you have to play by the rules. In this case it is yahoo rules.

Absolutely!! It is part of the game to call a pocket when you're down to the black. If you were playing in a Yahoo Pool room, it would have shown automatically that the frame went to Marc. So it is officially a draw.

I just played with danny. I made a lot of mistakes and he easily won the first 3 frames. In the 4th (I think it was the 4th... ) I accidentally sent the black in, in the middle of the game. I managed to get the 5th, and finally the 6th, after attempting the black 5 times!! Final score, danny 4 - 2 Nina.
Very good game for danny, congrats from me!
