i got this thats at a near on same spec with a 10mm. its in the finishing process and i could do a light grain fill and fine sand to get it close to a maple feel. oh and its playability is very lively http://s1324.photobucket.com/user/j6uk/newcue1/story

I have to have a stiff cue J6, it's what I'm used to, tried a lively cue for a couple of months once, just couldn't get used to the feel of it flexing ,it put me right off. I suppose because I only started a short time ago and bought a new cheap cue it was like a poker so to me that feels normal if that makes any sense.
You should post up more of what you do with the cues I love reading about and seeing people bring them on.

no flex, its lively in terms of responsiveness, the resonance is medium to stiff 10/58.3/29.5/17.5/18bp. and its a pipe. the tapers modeled on trumps cue

I was going to PM this because I feel it could be one of my daft questions again, but I don't know or understand the difference between how a cue can be lively but stiff, could you explain, sorry for being very ignorant.

well you can have a stiffy that plays dead and one thats got more going on on the moment of the strike. the same with a cue thats got more give, there are some that really play nice and move the white around with ease, and others that take you to wobble city.
a good cue is a good cue, its all about the wood and the finish
