  • Heavy Duty Aluminium Case - Catch - Repair required

    Anyone recognise this case?

It is a heavy duty case and about 15 years old. I have not used it recently due to the broken catch.

Anyone know where I could get a replacement catch?

There are plenty of cue doctors, but are there cue case doctors out there?!

Looks like a fairly normal catch. Has it been riveted on? Pretty sure you could pick something similar up on e-bay. Google “Cheney catches” and you”ll find some suppliers. Fixing will be the problem unless you know someone with a rivet gun. Maybe small local cobbler/upholster could help.

cuecraft will sell you the ones they use on their ally cases,
think they are a bit wider than the ones on your case, but should not be a problem I think

Helpful ebayer 'Cue and Case Man' steered me to a catch on ironmongeryworld.com. I have ordered a catch for a couple of quid and will drill the rivets out and then use screws instead.

would deffo recommend speaking to Marc Lockley at Snooker Crazy because he is a gent and knows his business. A few words over the phone or email will provide a cost effective solution soonest.

I'd second this. I got some catches from Marc at the end of last year.
