Having trouble so far finding somewhere to buy at a reasonable price, best price so far iv found on ukpool.com which is 18 quid...if thats best i can get one for then il go with that.
Thanks in advance
Place a piece of fine/ medium grade sandpaper on a hard floor surface. turn the cue upside down, and gently rotate the cue to clean any debris off the end of the cue. This will level the top of the cue and ferrule surface
Remember, before doing this to clean as much of the old tip off with a sharp knife first.
It does exactly the same thing as ordinary sandpaper does but with less control i would imagine . If your careful with a knife you can remove all the glue and bits of old tip , and just need to give the top a few rubs for a good key .
Its mainly due to me doing lots of tips and ferule work for people local to me,save me a lot of hassle and time in the long run,if 18 quid is the best price i can get one for il just go and buy one online, unless someones got one they dont use??
i do lots of tips every week, i sit there with a knife/scalpel cutting them
is there a device that does it for ya? might save me a hell of a lot of time.
what the thing u saw for £18? got a link?

In my humble opinion, using a blade or a knife is a much better way to make sure the top of the ferrule is flat. The top sander tends to cut too much with too much movement. You may have a curved surface on the top.
I use a lathe so I can make sure the top is flat and perpendicular, but I used to use just a blade and all my tips stayed on.
