  • Aramith G1 Balls

I just bought a new set of G1 balls and have been using them for a week or so. When they first arrived I checked them out and weighed them all and they were perfect.

This morning I noticed a crack in the cueball, a sort of semi-circle about 1/2" long and upon further investigation I found around a dozen of these cracks, all mostly the same size.

Has anyone ever seen this before with either the G1 balls or the Tournament Champion Pro Cup balls?

I have sent a message to Aramith asking for a replacement so I'll see what they say. I did take a photo but there was no way to attach to their email system

At £200 a throw they better be willing to get you a replacement. You may have just been unlucky I think, they are the top lot so I doubt this sort of thing is common.

I will take a look at mine, Terry. On cleaning every so often though I cannot remember seeing anything iffy. They are 4 month old and my cue ball is yellowish too but will look real close for any hair lines tomorrow.

I have 3 other cueballs, one spotted for training and none of them developed this sort of thing, so I think this is a one-off. It's just that I've never seen this type of flaw in a cueball before

            Good Day, Terry,

Hope they send you a replacement. I have been looking at getting another set and would like to get the G1 set, were you able to find a supplier here in Canada.? If so could you let me know where.
            Thanks,

I believe that Aramith cue balls are a creamy white from the start and do not "change" to the yellowy-white.
Just checked my Aramith TC cue ball and no cracks - phew
Terry - I hope you get a good response.

I got mine from a guy in Canada who bought some sets when he was in England and ended up with one extra plus he says he prefers the Pro Cup balls on his tables.

You can get them from John Parrott Cue Sports for less than 190GBP + shipping (be sure to ask them to remove the VAT and British shipping from the price they offer you as both of them are included in the 190 that they post on the site (link is up top on the TSF home page).

be very careful where you buy these - only peradon supply them officially. i have seen fake sets.

                      Andrew:

I would assume Parrott has the real deal and that's where mine came from originally. Mine appear to be genuine as all the little leaflets about Aramith's other products are in there and they are exactly the same colour as my Pro Cup set.

I did notice on the front of the attache case they say '1G' balls so I guess I've been calling them wrong

                            Hi Terry,

No hairline cracks on inspection. Good luck with the replacement, you should get that with no problems..

I'm happy to report Aramith (well actually SALUC S.A.) has informed me they are sending me a new cueball free of charge and have also asked me to send back the cracked one at their expense so they can check it out in their lab.

It's great a company will agree to that especially considering the cost of shipping back and forth. Kudos to Aramith.
