These are on their way to me as we speak, cannot wait to give them a go, i know they are the full 2 1/4" diameter, but unsure of their weight at the moment, hopefully somewhere close to my TC's ???
    Also 3 vintage training balls

    are they crystallite or phenolic?
I believe crystallite are in the same range of weight as Aramith phenolic.

    cheers

Never asked, will hopefully be on box lid ?? will weight give a clue ??
If you believe the ad "presented to previous owner by joe Davis" would that date it to a type of ball ?? never did my homework lol

Not sure as I think the different materials have very similar ball weight.
        Presented when
I think phenolics became the norm in the mid-80s (anyone confirm?)
        did you say 2 1/4", aren't snooker balls 2 1/16" max?

They're standard size bud, come with a nice letter from the guy who got them from Joe too - I think that'll come with the set?

Ohh that sounds nice, but not expecting it, so will be a bonus if there.

                    Looks good to me . . .
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

This is obviously for some game I have never heard of - what do you do with them?

Joe Davis invented snooker plus adding two extra colours (purple one worth 10 points and an orange one worth 8 points) to try and make it more interesting.

No one liked it so it failed.

wow sounds like a laugh - so the high break would be 195 or 206 if you take a free ball?

This must be the power snooker of its day

Highest break is 210 (without a fee ball) taking purple (10 points) with every red, then the final 8 colours
